    And the nominee is...

As the new election year heats up and the start of the Democratic Primary process draws nearer, I'm curious how Western New York responds to the parade of men (and woman) who think they'd do better than Dubya. Feel free to include any comments, rationales, explanations, etc...
It is no less certain than it is important... that the larger the society, provided it lie within a practical sphere, the more duly capable it will be of self-government.

Why wouldn't you vote for the person running and thier capabilities versus thier party line?

I haven't found a canidate that deserves a vote on either side in WNY. But you have to vote for someone and GOP rep's are usually willing to try a tax cut.

I'm still undecided on who to vote for. I will have to brush up a little more on who's running and where they stand on issues.

Kerry is a likely option, but Dean will definately keep everyone of on Capital Hill on their toes.

so, for now I'm still thinking.

All the new immigrants that Bush is proposing to let in will get a fast rtack to citizenship so the can vote foe G.W.
Seriously, what he is to purposing do wirh immigrant amnistey is just to get some votes from what has been a solid Democratic group, Families of recently made citizens who have relatives they want to bring here. They will kick it around untill November and if he wins it will never go any further,

The trick is to bring the untaxed money back to the government.
Because illegales work off the books and were not paying income and state tax. Now the Billions that said 22million illegals send home will first be taxed. It looks like the govt is throwing a bone but is really looking to get the revenue that is owed. I don't think that this was a ploy because this was being talked about a while ago, before we got all caught up in the last 2 conflicts.

Not sure how this got onto the subject of immigration, but I think we all know the truth. This country needs immigrants - legal or not.
Like it or not, immigrants are willing to do jobs that most of us aren't.

Yes we need their taxed income to support the retirment of the baby boomers and able bodies to move into their jobs. They willl in time not be doing the low level jobs that we look down on but will be fitting pistons to the GM truck you just bought.

Yeah, and someday one of thier kids will be president. Give me a break. They are going to be a cheap source of labor taht will receive no rights as citizen. If they get hurt drop them on the other side of the border, If they loose the job deport them. Instead of exporting jobs to the third world we will just bring the third world here.
This, my friend, is the new "American Way"!!

    Citymouse ,

I didn't think you were that much of a dumb union prop. Untill your last few statments on this site. The mexicans will move into the jobs being left by the babyboomers because the generations behind them are not plentiful enough to fill the void. This has been forseen for many years even by your union leaders. Now when these mexicans move into the Delphi plant , don't you think the UAW will be all for the new infusion of dues payers. I know yours will.

Now to mention the Billions of dollars that are moving out the door untaxed. DOn't you think it would be nice to get some american dollars into the govt. Even Buffalo will benefit from taxing illegals. there are quite a few of them. If you were really a city mouse you have noticed the hoardes of them standing on oak every morning.

I would like to see you start thinking and not reacting to a percieved threat on you union. The same for all you other union line towers on this site. The real world is creeping in and I know that makes you scared.

But on better note I know that 70 percent of the Ford motor co . is gearing up for retirement over the next 5 yrs.. Get your resumes ready

    History repeats itself my friend.
In 1900 theyt could not find American labor for the mills and sweat houses worked thier people 12 and 14 hours aday, six days a week for sub par wages, so they used the influx of cheap immigrant labor that was arriving in the millions every year. They worked those peoele to death.
How about what the mining cnies and the railroads did to thier workers in the 1800's.
Do you think the anti labor sentiment this administration fosters coupled with bushes overtime reforms which favor business and the relaxing of restrictions on work for illegals is a coincidence.
You have been sold a bill of goods. there is plenty of willing workers in this country all they need is a living wage. Something bush and his coporate conspiritors don,t want to give.
