Blahblah, toms, youcangohome, etc ...you need to get a new hobby. I am so sick of this endless circle of you people getting off on picking on Haxton and her trying til she is blue in the face...to get through your thick skulls. You's refuse to see her point of view, because you like the way the city operates, you's are on the other side of the fence (bridge). Of course you's don't want the truth to be told, why would you, Lackawanna stinks in
more ways than one and you's like it that way. If Lackawanna was not such a cesspool of greed and corruption, there would be nothing for her to complain about. As far as I can see, she wasted four years of her life on the city council, with a bunch of man-babies who have no concept of dignity and respect.

You's love to hate Haxton, you's jump on every post she put's up and it's gotten WAY old. If she's such a witless nut like you's all say, then why do her posts get under your skin so bad? She has the courage to "speak up" and you's would never dare use your real name here. Nothing ever changes in Lackawanna, you're probably the same bunch that bullied me all the way through junior high and have yet to evolve.

victim. Accept no one's definition of your life; define yourself.

Your right YNOTNOW, spineless, weak individuals looking at this failing City & School district through rose colored glasses. Attacking Andrea in a hateful manner is their solution to divert blog viewers away from the real issues regarding this city.

I would strongly suggest the Postal Service complaint. Please do this, it may result in some respect
    for the your mail.

Post Keeping it real now.........Cute. Living there OR WORKING THERE?!?

Get real, I've probably spent more time in the Gates Ave. projects than you EVER will and never even caught a hint of odor coming from there,so YOU get your facts straight!!!
    FACTS:
    Types of Winds
Cyclone - low pressure system, wind blows in a counterclockwise direction
Anticyclone - high pressure system, clockwise wind circulation
Land-Sea Breeze - (Figure) result from differences in temperatures of the land surface and ocean. During the daytime the land heats up more rapidly than the ocean, the warm air rises and cool air blows in from the ocean to take its place. At night the opposite occurs. The land cools quickly while the ocean remains warmer. The wind direction reverses itself and blows offshore as the warm ocean air rises and the cooler air from the land moves in to take the place of the rising air.

In OUR case it is Lake Erie of course.......

    Planning for Minimal Odors
The importance of odor control will vary depending on the population density of the proposed building site. If the farmstead is located in an isolated area the impact of odors on the farm residence will be the primary concern. The factors that should be considered when selecting a site for livestock buildings and manure storages are: direction of prevailing winds, distance to neighbors and the farm residence, topography, and presence of natural windbreaks. When planning new facilities it is desirable to avoid as many potential problems as possible. The following are some items to consider when selecting a location for a new hog facility.
In OUR case it is everything BUT swine of course.
    Separation Distance and Neighbors

    Wind Direction

    Topography
    Farm Visibility and Screens

    Design & Construction

    Separation Distance and Neighbors

The ideal separation distance between a livestock facility and the nearest neighbor to avoid an odor nuisance has not been determined, and is somewhat subjective. For a well designed and maintained facility with neighbors that are familiar with swine production a separation distance of 1,000 ft may be sufficient. If a city or town is close by then a separation distance of 1/2 mile from town or more would be recommended. New swine facilities should be located several miles from towns that are growing significantly in population. Odor strength and weather conditions can influence odor dispersion. Always try to locate new facilities where odor problems can be avoided or minimized.

State and local governments may both have regulations for separation distances. Be sure you contact both state and local government agencies early in the planning process and before any land is purchased.

Didn't make it through Earth Science, huh guys.
But whatever you think is OK with me.....WHATEVER! BTW, before you attack me on an insignificant point....... I know it does not do swine, just an analogy of the right way proposals should be decided for a CITY.

I have been reading the abuse she takes for YEARS now. Those people need sensitivity training, like the Kenmore East girl's basketball team was ordered to take. Blahyoutom are cowards that have never, not once contributed an intelligent or respectful response to any posts here. Why do they set the tone of conversation here so nasty and hateful? If Haxton says something they disagree with, they could choose to have a reasonable debate. Why do they choose to debase and humiliate her? Because she strikes a nerve, that's why!

The general tone on here is that of direct criticism. It is easier for one to complain, rather than put forth a response with substance. Not better, just easier. Too bad more couldn't respond on topic rather than throwing jabs out there at others. That is why this will always just be entertainment at it's lowest form, rather than anything of value.

What you posted refers to a farmstead which their facility isn't. From what I've seen, no animals are kept outside. You mentioned putting it in the Abbott Rd plaza or the Abbott Rd industrial park. Both of those locations have homes and apartments much closer than the ones near it now. And the majority of the Arabian families that is was established for live in the 1st ward. I dare anyone to drive by it and even recognize what kind of business it is.

I appreciate your statement of apology blahblahblah. I hope this board can be an asset for the people of Lackawanna to have open and intelligent debate.
