Modern mailed out flyers indicating they're no longer taking either. I drink hard cider more than beer and there's no deposit on those in NY and I don't want to throw them in the trash. The flyer says you can take bags to grocery stores but back when I worked at one (granted it was 10+ years ago) the bins for paper and plastic bag recycling both got emptied into the main dumpster with all the other trash so I'd rather use an actual recycling place that will definitely recycle them
it was bad enough that they never took styrofoam but these extra restrictions are really lame. What's the point of even doing recycling if the stuff you really need to recycle isn't accepted?
I'm not a hardcore environmentalist but I do like to recycle as much trash as possible

I'm wondering if Wegman's no longer recycles plastic bags now too?
I usually bring mine there, but they removed their bin for plastic bags.
I don't trust that the grocery stores aren't just trashing everything in the main dumpster
I know there's been plenty of years for things to change since I worked at one of the big chains but I still don't trust them to actually be recycling stuff. Anyone currently work at one or have direct contact with someone who does that can confirm?
