The Bee put out this poll...

Is your voice being heard by the town board?

    http://www.westsenecabee.com/node/36532

Once again the powers that be go against the people. I always see certain intellects on Speak Up tell us how every decision our elected officials make is supported by the majority. Guess that's not the case... Government for the people, by the people at it's best.

Sounds more like the town board is taking cues from the guy that runs North Korea.

Question Is this the Government our fore fathers had in mind ?

Holy smokes - what kind of convoluted tax funded musical chairs game are these people playing?

First it was stated here that Kroll was a fulltime tax funded civil servant who was going to also take a part time tax funded civil service appointment !

Now the Bee reports "In other matters, it was announced in the meeting that Craig Kroll, part-time recreation director, would be resigning effective Jan. 12. This is Kroll’s second resignation from the department.

Kroll had been reappointed to a new position in the Recreation Department during the Dec. 15 meeting after having resigned from his position as director of the department in October.

So does he still have his other full time civil service tax funded position ?

Now we find the Town Attorney has legal problems -

Additionally, it was announced that William Bond, town prosecutor, would be resigning as well. Bond had been appointed to the position at the Jan. 5 reorganization meeting.

“Mr. Bond, apparently, about 20 years ago, was censured for giving a client a loan, and according to the ruling by the appellate division, they understood his reason for doing it, trying to help somebody, but it was clearly a violation of the ethics,” Hart said.

Bond was asked to resign after the matter was brought to the board’s attention. Hart said the board requested the resignation and Bond did so willingly.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is no joke - its how they are running what these people call a Democracy. Its like a low budget version of the Tammany Hall Era - sort of like Lancaster !

What Party do these clowns/clones belong to ?

In the Town of Lancaster, we have a censured attorney sitting as a town councilman who had the balls to run as town justice after his censuring. The voters turned him away. He's up for re-election in his council seat this year. The voters will probably re-elect the unethical dwarf

So whats your point - It happened 20+ years ago ?

To many, it just proves that when it comes to "Politics" - when they want you out - any thing goes.

Is it fair - correct or relative to who he is today - probably not. Does truth, honesty or fairness matter in the "Political scheme of things" - definitely not !

But this is the "Game" Party Players have practiced for years - its accepted by supporters, committee members and voters.

There in lies the problem - what was once deemed "Sleaze Bag Politics" is now everyday norm. Every Party seems to have accepted it as status quo.

Who's going to change it - who's going to stop the TV commercials during election time. The ones sponsored by Party Hacks under invented names like "Citizens for a Better America" -"Moms against Bullet Makers" - "Better Government Committee" and so many others that actually hide the Party behind them?

What news paper that prints the "Opinions" or "Letters to the Editor" expose the fact that the letters attacking some candidates were written by the opposing Committee/ or Party Member ?

None - no one - its "Part of the Game" - the game to control spending of tax dollars - the "Winner take all Game" to control patronage jobs and appointments.

So while Town Controllers are engaging in double dipping patronage schemes and appointments - West Seneca trims out a Judge by using some old news - it gives the appearance of ethics - isn't that what this was all about anyway ?

My point is it happened no where near 20 years ago. They are either trying to distance his conduct or it is poor fact checking on behalf of the reporter (or both).

OK - so you approve of the way it was used - just not the fact it wasn't 20 years ago ?

Sorry, I actually thought you cared about the continual use of assassination Politics or the double dip tax funded patronage game !

New policy tonight at Town Board Meeting. Third change in last three meetings. 3 minute time limit for taxpayers in town to address town board. Town Atty. has the responsibility of monitoring the time. After his sand timer expires he rings a bell. Town Atty. Fenz earning his $50,000 salary. Next town meeting I expect to see a gong for Fenz to strike to let the public. know their time is up. The West Seneca Town Board. Meetings are imitating the Gong Show and making a mockery of what has been a policy for 15 years of allowing the public to question the Board.

The good part (If there is one) is how these so called "Public Servants/Elected Officials" are showing their true contempt for tax payers !

This seems to be obvious in many Towns/Villages lately - more and more the average/unconnected home owning taxpayer is seeing the same thing - the disconnect between them and those in office.

Tax payers and Party Line Voters must take a hard look at who they elect and why. If anyone in this day and age is still voting "Party Line" - they are doing a disservice to themselves and their neighbors.

They sure are doing a disservice to the community. Well not really if you look at it from their point of view and social club needs. "I need a job and if I kiss ass long enough" perhaps I'll be given one. Right? If you look how the contracts are written a town employee really doesn't care if taxes increase because of a raise increase. The raise will be more than the increase of their home property taxes. So when someone blurts out "Well my taxes will increase to" is basically BS.

What does it take to recall a local politician? Can't be too hard... Gather enough signatures then they have to put it out for referendum right? Put Meegan's petition right on top and the the other two turkeys right underneath, people will sign. That Meegan has been hanging around too much with Cuomo when the creek overflows.

You Westy - that's a interesting observation - many times I've heard them use that line, "I pay taxes too" - that's usually followed up with - "I don't mind paying my fair share"

So these tax funded employees get a pay increase of 3+ and out taxes go up about the same - makes sense - they never loose. Many of these people start at over $19.00 a hour and benefits and that's for part timers and even just seasonal help.

Now look at upper levels - $20-24.00 an hour plus benefits and pensions. Wholly smokes - no wonder they support the Controlling Members and vice versa !

Vamp, there's no recall provision in NYS law. Might require a constitutional amendment to enact one. Where's nogods the esq. when we need him? But there are recall votes all the time. They're called elections.
