Didn't he move to Florida after taking generous NYS and Monroe County tax breaks for decades to help grow a business that made him a billionaire? Never mind his ownership of a heavily tax subsidized and anti-trust waiver'ed professional sports team. And now he's gonna lecture us about NYS and all it's problems (especially taxes)?

This is all after his attempted purchase of the NYS Senate in the 2008 election, mind you. Which, when the deal feel through - and after he held a press conference to declare himself a resident of Florida, he conspired and funded a legislative coup in the Senate he thought he bought for fair consideration. A coup that brought Pedro Espada (an unbelievably loathsome human being) into a prominent leadership role. Oh yeah, Tommy B's also bringing sexy back by reintroducing Buffalo's favorite Rat[screw]er, Steve Pigeon, back into the political scene. What? He couldn't talk Bob Delano out of retirement?

    Jesus Christ!

It's baffling that anyone thinks that narcissistic hypocrite has anything worthwhile to offer to the political debate around here. And funny that he has to buy time on TV to do so.

Um. . . your point. BTW, I cannot find any link even addressing your question.

But answer me this: Who built and owns the building they play 42 games a years in? Who paid for the massive infrastructure improvements needed to accommodate said building?

Keep in mind, I'm not arguing that the Sabres are a negative drain on the local economy. Quite the contrary. However, I'm not willing to elide the fact that professional sports franchises are businesses heavily subsidized by the tax base. Nor am I really willing to listen to the owner of such a franchise tell other people about how bad the tax situation in this area is when he, himself, has benefited greatly from some of the policies he complains about. When Tommy B returns all the tax breaks and subsidies Paychex and the Sabres have received over the years, I'll believe his opinions on such matters is worth more than a wadded ball crap in my cat's litter box.

Why don't we add Antoine Thompson, Stachowski, Smith, Sampson and the rest. None of these jerks gives a crap about any of us.

NY really does have a good track record of chasing away investment and driving businesses and people out..

that in my opinion is the crux, TB was just one high profile high net worth person.

It is amazing how many supporters of NY there are on this MB

I'm sure a decent amount. I'll bet the employees pay even more out of their own wages. So?

Plus, Golisano has resurrected the career of Steve Pigeon and introduced the rest of the state to Pedro Espada via the bitch fit Tommy tossed when assumed-pwnd State Senators would not do his bidding and he felt the need to, as a private citizen in the process of moving out of the state, shut the senate down. Then he held a press conference and relished in his accomplishment. In other words, someone didn't get their own personal quo and essentially hijacked a legislative house of the state government in retaliation.

Not to keep harping on it, but I will. . . It surely is a thing of beauty, however, to see Tommy trying to lecture on how NYS should be fixed while being aided by the likes of Pigeon and easy allies with Espada. Reform, indeed.

Name the last time Pigeon supported a candidate and he/she won.

Anything he touches turns to manure.

Anyway, I thought $150,000 for a 30 minute infomercial was pretty cheap. Yet, as I tell voters all the time; STOP listening to the words that come out of their mouths and simply watch their actions.

Months ago someone asked me if we should be recruiting TG for this new political venture and I said hell no. Driven by ego and would want the controls to the ship or bust. Sorry. Pass. Witness how "independent" the Independence Party is. And with TG comes Pidgeon. Stained. Maybe sneakers is right, maybe he has "poopy fingers". Either way, political hacks are like anti-Christs to Whigs.

It does, however, make it clear to see what NOT to do. Don't watch.

So that's why he seems to keep getting promoted, eh?

I was an active Democrat when Pigeon was the county chairman. The difference between him and Karl Rove (or either of Mayor Brown's henchman - Cutler and Casey) is negligible.

It'd be nice to assert that anything G. Steven Pigeon touches turns to crap, yet he's still a force in politics. WTF?

I used to be a REP, but I'd love to break Rove's jaw. Its the patriotic thing to do! And the current admin will have their Rove's.

It aint about REPS and DEMS anymore, its about US versus THEM.

I hope thats become clear to all.
