    Grand Island Schools a disgrace

The buffalo news posted earlier this week standard test scores .Grand Island schools took a nosedive in results. The numbers dropped down to buffalo school results.Parents on the Island should be extremely concerned with these numbers. Something is extremely wrong with our schools here on the Island. Please do not just ignore this. Look up test scores on BN.com if you did not see them in the paper. You will also be disgusted. Contact the BOE and ask why why why. Don't let them BS you and say the results don't mean anything. They compare school districts in wny and the Island did close to the worst of all . This not only affects our children and grand children but our property values.Contact the BOE today and ask why.

Who can you lay the blame on? The company that is providing the employees/environment to teach in or the parents?

The worst part is that it seems nobody cares.Especially the younger parents could care the least. They seem to assume that the schools know what they are doing and that is end of discussion. Such a country of sheep.

Just a thought but why don't parents get off their collective ass & sit down with their kids and read together (real books not some crappola Internet website) play games that actually teach things (not bullsh*t computer games) and get invested in their kids education? Too many parents are caught up in themselves and living their lives vicariously in some Internet fantasy land to take the time to invest in their own kids. So sad.

Great Idea. Afraid that in our new society a lot of parents do not even read themselves.

    What?????

In Island Dispatch 8/29, the superintendent praises the teachers for the latest results . This is the icing on the cake, our Island School Superintendent is a con artist. Con the masses in believing the schools are just fine. Parents contact her at BOE thru at least a email. Her email address in easily accessible thru the Island school web page. Let her know the latest proficiency results posted in the buffalo news are totally unacceptable.

    Twain,

One of the Cheektowaga School administrators said this:

Vice President Brian Gould said that keeping property taxes low is attracting business to Cheektowaga, which then benefits residents even more. He pointed to the upcoming opening in the town of Cabela’s first hunting, fishing and outdoors store in New York State as one example.
Seems misleading when our community pays some of the highest property taxes in the area.

Now you have a school administrator praising the work done by the group while the results nose dived as you stated.
