So should we give our elected Officials a raise?

See we are the most over taxes state in the USA as it is, should we give our elected officials a raise?

Remember a lot of these people already make over $75,000 for what they do.

These thieves knew the pay scale going in. If it isn't good enough for them, go somewhere else.

Oh wait, that might mean that they'll have to work for a living. Joel hasn't done that since he was leaning on a shovel being a member of Local 210.

One hundred grand isn't enough for poor Joel, my ass. Maybe he should run for governor. That's what he really wants. Then he can screw up the whole state!

Nope we can't allow people like a "Joel" to ever be governor. He doens't have enough business experience for competativness. We need to compete again other states as if they are businesses. Now with all this free trade stuff we need to compete against china too.. etc..

Joel Governor, It will never happen. It would be nice to get rid of him, But.... The last one we had from this side of the state was Grover Cleveland. The New york city politicians would eat Giambra alive. His mickey mouse scandals wouldn't play down state they would laugh him out of the capital.

So where is the job description of what a county exec does for over $100,000 a year?

Good question, You would probably ask him. I don't think his answer would be "lead by example"

No I bet if we can find the "JOB" description of what a governor does, Mayor, county exec and how much they get paid we could find good replacements.

I'm not trying to sound dis-respectful but from a overall view of what is going on politicially in WNY it's a joke. We've allowed them to muck things up to the point that the tax payers grandkids will be paying off thier promises. Doesn't seem fair.

How can you be disrespectful of some one who should not get any respect. Or should we respect him because he outspent the other guy?

I dont know the answer to that., I always assumed you earn respect by your actions. Not just get voted in and automaticly are a respectable person.

I'm still like flabergasted if that's a word how the governor didn't see the state budget issues coming forth. You look over what you hear about labor contracts and you see how they will bite you in the ass. I would of had cost limits period on health and retirement cost. WHat if health insurance went up a factor of 10 times? In the current contracts we are stuck no matter how costly it may get.

YOU know what will be a fun show to watch? Whats going to happen when the county runs out of money seeing they are using reserves from what i read in the paper.

I'm also not happy that we allow the state to gamble. A legalize gabbling mob disguised as Indians. We should get a payroll listing for the NYS harness association and lottery commission. I bet there are some dosy salaries there.

In january of 2002 the city Blue and White collar units came back from a confrence in Albany and told us with the reduction in state aid from Bush tax cuts and the loss of revenue that nine eleven cost the state the city of Buffalo would be insolvent within the next year. It was no surprise to anybody who paid attention.
If we knew it the administration had to as well.

I am glad you made the distinction of Harness racing as opposed to flat tracks.I like the horses and hate the harness.

I could easily say OTB killed the race tracks in the area. My parents own horses at batavia and buffalo raceway. All NYS did with OTB was to pull all the people from the tracks into there legalize betting storefronts.

I think the state has thier hands in too many things. Just like this healthy NY insurance rackette they started.
