Kimberly Snickles reported in the West Seneca Sun an article pertaining to the last Town Board Meeting. If Snickles would report on the whole story she would have written about how Councilmen Hart and Hanley attempted to force Highway Superintendent English to replace the next senior temporary employee with a good work record, with a friend of Hanley and Hart with two DWI convictions. Hart also believes the Highway department should not be involved in politics, the Sun may have mention Hart's hiring of two of. his relatives to Parks and Highway positions recently! Snickles if you are going to continue writing half of. The town board meetings maybe the Sun should look into hiring another reporter to write the second half

#Dems play musical chairs + patronage and nepotism = entitlement !
What are their email addresses? I'll pop over an email and ask them if this is true. We could also ask them who best interests are they protecting. Friends or the town's.Hart and Hanley

Hart is a hypocrite, I'm sure he would have no problems if it were his minions collecting signatures from them under like circumstances. ( http://www.speakupwny.com/forums/sho...action-back-in )But Hart stood by his beliefs. He stated that whether employees were on the clock or not, they shouldn’t be asked to join any committee on highway department grounds. He also said that he has received a few phone calls from highway department employees that let him know what was going on.
““I don’t think it’s right to do that. I don’t think that these young men should be approached at all,” said Hart. “If they want to come in and call you at eight o’clock at night or Bobby Schultz at eight o’clock at night and volunteer to do it, that’s fine. But when you do it on the property or in the parking lot whether it’s three-thirty or later or in the garage after three-thirty after quit time, it’s still on the job site and it’s still pressure. It’s still somebody approaching you and I just don’t agree with that.”

If Hart and Hanley truly have concerns over this they could amend the Code of Ethics in the Town Code to have a provision like the following from the Town of Brookhaven:
But they probably won't because then it would apply to them.A. No person shall engage in any political activities on any Town premises at any time. Such prohibited activities include but are not limited to the following:
(1) Sales or purchases of tickets to political events.
(2) Discussion of tickets to political events.
(3) Solicitation to join a political party or activity.
(4) Discussion of promotions or transfers or changes of assignments or compensation on the basis of any political considerations.
(5) Solicitation of funds or goods or services for political purposes.
B. No person having supervisory control or who is superior in title to any official or employee of the Town shall engage in any of the following actions with subordinates at any time on or off Town premises:
(1) Discussion of or solicitation of ticket purchases or sales.
(2) Solicitation to join a political party or political activity.
(3) Use of political considerations in discussing duties, positions, compensation, changes in titles or work assignments.
(4) Use of political considerations as the reason for promotions, assignment changes, demotions or termination.
C. No officer or employee of the Town shall solicit or discuss political contributions with Town vendors or consultants at any time, on or off Town premises.
D. No elected Town official, Bingo Inspector or any person holding an appointed office on the Town's Board of Ethics, Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, Assessment Review Board or Accessory Apartment Review Board shall hold a position on any Town, county, state, or national duly recognized political party's executive committee.

I wonder how Hart feels about Town workers wearing campaign t-shirts while on the job in public?
