    Fire + Ice

Imagine my surprise when I went to Chestnut Ridge Park the other day and found Winter alive and well! It was actually an incredibly beautiful time to make the trek up to the eternal flame... I highly recommend it! I got there around 8AM, and it was pretty foggy. It gave the whole place a magical Narnia-ish kinda feel to it.

One problem I ran into, though: when you can see your breath, that means it can get in the way of your shots!

    Gulf Stream warms the coast

I found snow in August down in the gorge at Chestnut Ridge Park when I was little. I said, "Momma! There's snow down in that gorge!"

Did you know that although the whole of Iceland resides within the Arctic Circle, Rejkavic is warmer in the wintertime than NYC?!

Apparently there's a lot more to Chestnut Ridge Park than I've ever seen.

    Those are beautiful pics, crlachepinochet.
