Time for O'Loughlin to Leave - For Good!

Monday night's meeting was a marathon. It lasted until 2:45 in the morning!

Satish (Ruler of hundreds) Mohan stayed until the bitter end. At 71 and with a heart issue, he showed no signs of fatigue (other than having no clue on how to run a better meeting)

Bill "I would gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today" Kindel stayed until the bitter end. This man, just off major heart surgery, put in an 8 hour day, night and morning, and was able to say "good night" to the remaining 3 residents just before 3 a.m.

Mike McGuire, no kid himself (though I dare you to ask him his age), called it a night just before 3:00 in the morning.

Dan, Shelly and Deb are just too young to make an issue about a late night, early morning. That's what they get paid for. They were there.

That leaves Billy O - excuse me, the Honorable CouncilMAN O'Loughlin, master of investments, darling of the media (at least at WBEN) and keeper of the budget (when is he going to give us his long over-due 100 day report???). I heard him interviewed the following day on WBEN with his comments on his suffering through a 7 hour meeting. Excuse me, Bill, 7:30 to 12:30 are 5 hours, not 7. You left long before Satish, Bill, Mike, Dan, Shelly and Deb (and the Department heads that stayed...and 3 residents).

Here's evening's agenda (http://www.amherst.ny.us/pdf/tb/agenda/060320.pdf) check out what happens after "Committee Reports", page 8 of 17. Councilmember O'Loughlin voted "absent" on every entry! Pretty darn consistent!

SMOKING GUN MOMENT: Look on page 10 of 17 under Schratz's report. Ms. Schratz sought to rescind an ill-conceived Board-passed resolution (from a prior meeting) to limit ALL public discussion at public HEARINGS to 5 minutes. George Richmond thought it important enough to discuss at the Suspension of Rules. Well, the vote came up, early in the morning, Billy O was gone, and the remaining Councilmembers voted 3-3 (Mohan, Schratz and Bucki for the recision, Kindel, Ward and McGuire against). The resolution failed for lack of a majority. WHERE WAS O'LOUGHLIN??? A major freedom of speech motion up for a vote, and the man who wants to be County Executive was gone!

How does the private sector react to a no-show employee? They fire his ass Bill! How dare you take your Town salary and not do the work! I am not even going to get into the fact that you've been a Councilmember for over 2 years and have presented fewer than 5 resolutions to the Board for consideration. What are you being paid for?

Oh yes, you did stick around long enough to change your vote on Shelly's moratorium. Very confusing these resolutions...eh Bill? Mr. Businessman shuts down development in Amherst...great headline Bill!

You sir, are a disgrace! I can't imagine why anyone would trust their savings to you!

Mr. HONORABLE Councilmember O'Loughlin, please do the right thing (for once) and resign from the Town Board immediately!
    Bring Back Jack!

    Hey Wrong View,

If you weren't so interested in your own self, you would have read my blogs about Billy OH! from 2003 on!

I notice you always jump on a bandwagon when it is already full.

    Thumbs down Billy O

Billy O can't handle the demands required as a part time town councilman, and he expects the voters to believe he can handle being county ex.? Right.

    Owl,
You're right on that count! How many times does the County Leg meetings go into the wee hours of the morning? How will he handle that too?

With Billy O you get exactly what you see. He loves to compare everything to the private sector, yet here's a man that is so clueless and insincere, that he behaves just like the people he wants to fire.
I agree ... Yo Yo Yo..Billy O has to go

Once again, you never disappointment me with your palsied comments. As for bandwagons, no I'm there from the beginning. I just voice my comments when I think they are needed and encourage/praise those that need/deserve it.

I see you are back to being unoriginal. It's ok, it usually happens with circular thought(going always or usually right tends to go in a circle, i know you needed help with that one.)

I watched part of the TB meeting last night and when they were discussing whether to vote on or table the rezoning being heard, WAO stated openly that he would vote whatever way SM did. So much for "individualism".

It's hard to imagine that with his physique that Billy O' could actually have his head so far up his butt.
