I get the feeling Sandy and the Reverend Tom really hate each other. Quite frankly it gets old hearing Beach fling insults at Bauerle while Tom just kills Sandy with kindness, pretty lame guys. Time for some new talent at WBEN. Sandy needs to be put out to pasture. The guy is like a broken record on the air saying the same four sentences over and over for 3 hours. He puts in absolutely no show prep and its obvious, god forbid we talk about more than one thing. Funny how he says "hang in there" when they go to break, it's like he knows his show is painful. He picks one topic beats the hell out of it for 3 hours. On top of that, they talk about the same crap week after week. How many stadium shows is this guy going to do? His days in radio are over (not sure if they were ever here).

Reverend Tom has some good shows but the guy has to get off the pulpit. The constant talking down to his audience like they are idiots turns people off. Plus sometimes he just goes off on these insane tangents that nobody wants to listen too.

I like 1340 WLVL . Tim Schmitt should have a show on WBEN. They cover mostly Lockport and Niagara County but it beats listening to the two knuckleheads all the time.

I find them interesting most of the time but then again I don't have time to listen to them everyday.

The most interesting, entertaining and honest host I remember WBEN ever having was Ron Dobson. I really miss his show. He had no partisan agenda, so he didn't have to lie to make one side seem right all the time. He was definitely better than anything I've heard around here in a long time, especially the current breed on WBEN.

Yea Ron Dobson makes some sense, except his stuff on smoking.

The big generic stuff, in a nutshell...

    Abortion
The right of the mother comes first, and that's it. No one has the right to tell a woman what she can do with her body--or for that matter, with whatever's growing inside. HOWEVER, I do support a parental notification law, simply because a parent has the right to know if such a procedure is being performed on their child.

    Affirmative action
Answering discrimination with more discrimination never made sense to me.

    AIDS
Frighteningly, most people are still quite ignorant on this subject. The whole concept of "safe sex" is a joke. Condoms allow you to be stupid. Some still think it's a gay disease. What year is this? Ignorance is truly bliss.

    Assisted suicide
Few people have demonstrated selflessness the way Dr. Jack Kevorkian has. He should be honored, not persecuted.

    Conservatives
They seem to want less government, but a much more intrusive government. They have tremendous trouble separating church and state. Where business is concerned, they want few or no regulations. Profit and money reign supreme at the cost of whoever or whatever. Successfully deluded many a redneck into believing they are on their side. Ironically, the more extreme conservatives would likely be more comfortable living in the fascist-style society they claim to fear so much.

    Death penalty
I wish states would reinstate the electric chair as their means of execution. It's so much more romantic.

    Driving
Texting-while-driving -This is far worse than drunk driving, yet doesn't have nearly the social stigma that drunk driving has. I would rather take my chances against a drunk behind the wheel than someone who's texting. Why? Well, because at least the drunk is watching the road. Not enough people have been killed by texting drivers YET. Eventually, hopefully, more people will come to their senses. Until then, fines and punishment for repeated offenses should be significant.

Teens - The worst and most dangerous behavior and/or decision making that I see on the road, is perpetrated by teenagers. Their judgment and maturity level are simply, as a whole, NOT sufficient for this particular freedom. Tighter restrictions should be employed, up to and including raising the age at which they can receive a license. I couldn't care less how much of an inconvenience this creates for lazy parents who are tired of driving their kids around.
Elderly - They're not much better than teens when it comes to their safety record and being a detriment to others on the road. Loss of driving privileges can create a tremendous hardship, but not as much as loss of life.

    Drugs
Alcohol - Since alcohol is legal, marijuana should be as well. I believe alcohol is actually more dangerous.
Marijuana - Harmless. Should only have the same restrictions as tobacco.
Cocaine, heroin, etc. - If people want to go off and overdose....see ya' later! Get them the hell out of jail, though! Wasted space.
Testing - If you have a job that deals with public safety, tough luck. Clean up your act or don't accept the job.

    Gays
Live and let live, just don't throw it in people's faces for the hell of it. That causes unnecessary resentment. Whoever made an issue of "gays in the military" is a moron. It's funny how some people don't think something exists until THEY find out about it. Marriage - At first I thought "hey, gays shouldn't be able to get married! That makes a mockery of the whole institution of marriage!" Then common sense set in, and I thought "Wait a minute: How does gay marriage undermine the institution of marriage? Answer: It really doesn't. What DOES undermine the institution of marriage, is the incredibly high divorce rate! I'm not sure how anyone can make sense of the idea that two people of the same sex getting married somehow undermines or diminishes YOUR commitment to YOUR spouse. Is life so long that people can afford to be so concerned with such nonsense? Some are so ridiculous as to want to taint the Constitution with an amendment concerning this BS.

    Guns
If people who committed crimes with guns were locked up for the actual amount of time they were sentenced to, this wouldn't be such a big issue. Yes, I'm for background checks (why contribute to the problem if it can be avoided?). I am, however, entirely supportive of any law abiding citizen owning a firearm. Don't tell me I am not allowed to defend myself from the animals out there that the system is often incapable of dealing with.

    Liberals
They apparently like more government, but with more limited powers in certain areas. They like to give our money away. Conservatives like to give our money away too, but they prefer to give it to people they know. Liberals are way to apologetic in their nature. This is why they, in general, are perceived as being so weak. Liberals also have the very dubious distinction of originating and spreading a sentiment that is a scourge in this society: Political Correctness.

    Religion
Believe what you want, just don't expect everyone else to live by your religion's rules....and for GOD'S sake, don't kill anyone over your religious differences!. Many people use religion as a way to feel superior to most other people. If you're not in the right club, you're a loser! Just like in Jr. High.

    Schools
Dress - The world of a kid would be much simpler if there was a dress code enforced at school. Express yourself on weekends...or by achieving academically.
Discipline - Kids who are a problem should be suspended. If attendance is a problem, the parents should be fined.
Social promotion - Few things offer more incentive to do your work than the threat of being "left back".
Teachers - Why people complain about teachers making too much money is beyond me. Intelligent people should; A) be teaching our children, and B) be compensated for it competitively. Unfortunately some teachers are ill-equipped to be teachers and should be fired. Equally as unfortunate is the fact that their union(s) prevent this from happening. It's called "tenure" and it was meant to encourage the exchange of progressive ideas and theories. In reality it keeps people who deserve to be fired from being fired.
Bussing (desegregation) - Nice idea, but causes too much unnecessary resentment between groups.
Condoms - Don't pass them out, just make them available. No, they won't halt disease and teen pregnancies, but they will cut down on them, that is if a kid has an opportunity to get them without trouble. Contrary to parental belief, kids won't always listen and will take risks All you can hope for is that if they do, they'll at least be more careful. Also, kids don't have sex more because condoms are available. What unrealistic imbecile surmised that?

    Smoking
Teens driving privileges should be revoked until they're 21 if they're discovered smoking. Most adults who smoke are a lost cause. Anyone who defends smoking supports assisted suicide. It Slowly but surely smokers are being forbidden from lighting up around anyone, due in large part to the inconsideration the minority of smokers have shown to everybody else. The inconsideration that started this anti-smoking crusade is still obvious when you see the amount of cigarette buts dropped all over parking lots now that they have to smoke outside. It shouldn't be a surprise people have finally had enough. That being said, I do love a good cigar. If I ever walk into a drinking establishment, I expect to run into a big cloud of tobacco smoke, not this, this.....this clean air, as they call it. The push to ban smoking in casinos is almost too much to bear.

    Taxes
Enough persecution of those who strive to achieve financially. Flat tax is the only fair way to tax.

    Term limits
There are good arguments for and against term limits, but in the end, there shouldn't be any. Why would someone vote for something that in effect takes away their right to vote for someone they want in office?

OMG love to see tim schmitty on wben at least he would talk more about local stuff and the dumb politicians around here. They use to talk more on the subject but seems like someone got to them to tune it down. They talk for an hour about BS before they even start taking calls. Like I said before they both should of been run out of town years ago with the crap they say.

wow look what CBC is up too, now the mouth should have a show about this clown four the next three days. look the buffalo school board is a mess and these are the people that have made the school system a joke it is.. But then you have the mouth and rev tom blaming teachers for their problems over the past years. Did you hear or see the school meeting last week on the news. It sounded like you were at the zoo with all the yelling Quinn is a ass CBC who know what he is up too, but the mouth says these two goofballs want to make a better school system.. The mouth ran CBC campaign right his show when he ran for school board.

Lets see if anyone of these two will have a show about cry baby carl this week.

Civil rights expert calls Paladino ‘threat’ unprecedented ...Notes ‘racial polarization’ of Buffalo School Board
One of the nation’s leading civil rights experts is calling out Buffalo School Board Member Carl P. Paladino for using what he says are intimidation tactics as the Buffalo School District grapples with school turnaround plans amid a civil rights complaint, noting that he has never encountered such behavior in any of the school districts he has previously worked with.

UCLA Civil Rights Project leader Gary Orfield, who is studying the district’s admissions criteria at several schools, makes the allegation in a letter to the U.S. Education Department’s Office of Civil Rights. The letter addresses an email exchange between him and Paladino, in which the School Board member told him to “get out of the way” and not interfere with the board majority’s plans to overhaul four struggling schools.

“I have never had, however, any major public official tell me what I can or cannot do and to try to intimidate me to stop thinking or speaking about issues that may be important for a solution,” Orfield wrote.
Paladino, in response, said that Orfield was “totally out of control” and that he plans to file a motion for the board to discharge him from his duties.

“Who is he to try and come in and control our actions moving forward?” Paladino said.

Racial tensions – and division – have become increasingly apparent on the Buffalo School Board. But Orfield’s letter marks the rare occasion of a nationally respected education expert with experience in other school districts weighing in on the magnitude of the problem in Buffalo... yep it is not the teachers.

Wow what of a week rev tom takes another two days off on mon and tue is ths a union job he has..? You had tug boat mike filling in on mon it was a good show on NYS corruption at least he didn't take his listeners to Russia.. Rambo dave on tue had to shut him off he was all over the place with his show. hummmm Mouth, do you know how much it is costing your company for the two guys filling in for the Rev tom because he was off again... But nobody talked about the second straight year teachers were rated effective or highly effective.. at 97% this was never mention by neither one. But the mouth will talk about how cry baby car and larry Quinn want to change this...hahaha never ever happen.

Buffalo schools are the only failing schools that are on the report. Why? the school board has destroyed the school system over the years.
While educators say that those results reflect the quality of teachers and principals in New York’s schools, the numbers also raise questions about how so many educators can be effective in a state where many schools are still considered failing.

A report that Cuomo released Thursday, hours before the latest evaluation data came out, shows that 109,000 New York students – about 4 percent – are currently enrolled in 178 “failing schools.” Many of those schools are concentrated in 17 of the state’s nearly 700 school districts. Buffalo is the only district in Western New York cited in the governor’s report.

I'm against pay increases based on only time or who's ass you kiss. I'm not necessarily against a minimum wage increase but I am against pay increases for services which are monopolies.

The Fast Food joints may have to raise their prices due to the minimum wage increases. These increases won't bother me because I will purchase less at the fast food joints.
I have no control over my Taxes in the welfare state of New York. As someone on a fixed income, I only have so much to spend on items that I can control.

The monopoly players use these raises to justify their raises. One always affects the other - the cries of the tax funded workers will be how the cost of living has increased - so we need more and so on.

This is the part of the equation they never want to talk about - but it looks good for the Politicians.

Look at what they do to waitress's - they pay them a hourly wage and then tax them as if they made more because they claim they should have made tips. It inflates their tax burden while reducing their actual spendable income.

Some business will pass this cost on two ways - higher selling prices and less employees. So the customer will pay more and the workers will be forced to actually do the work of two people instead of just their own.

People will spend less in these outlets and those workers who barely make a living wage will also be able to buy less with their money.

Raising the minimum way is a good thing - when the economy is doing well - not when its in a inflated state. Not when everything is getting more expensive and the value of the dollar is shrinking. The government lies and says we are doing just fine - reality tells us our dollar is shrinking every time we try and buy things.

You do have a choice - vote out the people causing this. Your voice can be heard best when you start locally.
