Who is paying late charges in Amherst?

I would like to know who is paying the late charges that are being levied against the Town of Amherst? Anyone know how much money Dr. Mohan has cost the Town since he took over? This is the second round of "late bill paying". I really don't think it matters that these bills were left from the old regime. When you take something over like this, I would imagine it would be one of the first questions asked of someone who is worried about costs - how much has to be paid out and when are montly bills due.

You know what I think. Mostly there are not late charges even though some of the bills are late. Remember some of these bills were late from the last administration.

How can it be the second round of late bills when he's only been in office 45 days or so?

    RE: Late charges

I said the second round because I was speaking of the Independent Health bill that was due the first of the year. I heard on the radio that Dr. Mohan said he would pay late charges out of his own pocket, that's why I am questioning if there are late fees associated with the bills not being paid on-time.

Dr. Mohan isn't an idiot when he stated he would pay late charges out of his own pocket. He knows there will not be any late charges.

I can hardly wait to see who the Doctor tries to blame for the late charges. I can't believe he will take the fall on this. Keep watching to see who gets blamed....certainly not him!!!

Yeah not if he can help it.
Friday he had two employees from the comptroller's office pull all the vouchers from 1/1/06 till now. They must report when the voucher came in, what dept. received it, and when it came to his desk.
He can no longer place the late payments on the previous administration after 1/1/06, SO he is trying to make like it was the dept. heads fault and not his.
Can you say "Pass the buck".
    It's never HIS fault!
    Notice a pattern developing here?

Yeah I see a pattern of you guys blaming Mohan and saying it isn't the previous admins fault. Look in the mirror the reflection you see is you.

There has been a transfer of authority.

I'd like to know if one cent in late fees have been charge at all to the town. If not these people have to refrain from whining about it until it happens.

It sure sounds like Dr. M. is looking to cover his butt on this issue.
I heard the same story Diog. posted.

Satish Mohan is also going through employee appointment records to determine if the employees have been appointed correctly. Mohan couldn't find one instance of an error.

    Another witchhunt!

Why would he waste taxpayer money having employees working on the taxpayers dime help him cover for himself? Now they have to probably work overtime to get their own work done. Is anyone really going to believe that until Jan 2006 there was never this much of a problem with late payments? Does he think the Controller and/or the departments are against him? He sounds paranoid from an outside percpective. Has he appointed anyone as controller? Maybe he can blame the person in the job now in a feeble attempt to make her/him look bad....and hire his buddy for the job!! Time will tell.

Satish Mohan will blame everyone but himself. He has no leadership qualities.

You have Mr. Mohan confused with Bill Kindel.
