    School Budget Time

Next Tuesday (May 19 2009) it is time to vote on the Budget for the Lackawanna School System. In principal and as a senior citizen I always vote no on the school budget. After looking at my property taxes and my school tax I think I'm justified in voting no.

I think all of us would be justified in shooting down budgets based on our taxes regardless of the municipality,

I also vote no to school budgets. But most people vote yes because they have children going to school. The way they look at it a bus does not run on water, children don't read by candle light, childen don't sit in classrooms with winter coats on they need heat. With all that being said bills need to be paid.I tell people sell your house get into a apartment,I know people who have done just that.

    The Best Way To Protest

The best way to protest the high taxes is to do what Mr. Golisano did leave.
If we a huge majority of the taxpayers left would the politicians think about lowering the taxes then.

    Thumbs down fp2206

It seems hopeless in stopping the increases in school budgets. It is always for the children. Not the powerfull teachers unions. We must all vote no till the system gets corrected. Do not be another sheep for the school superintendents, we pay too much now. Vote no.

It is not only the teachers unions it is the other city county and state unions workers that come out to vote in support of the these tax increases which are masked by the cry of "It's for the children." Don't give up, keep voting no and support political candidates who support our none liberal views.

Pshew, I thought you were going to pull the "fixed income" card.

Wait till you get your 2010 Tax Bill.

Yeah, all those people leaving have really helped us kick ass here.

In fact, the exodus has helped the politcal class retain power.
