Keep casino away from homes, school

The location being considered for the casino at Transit and Pleasantview roads is directly across from Hillview Elementary School. Behind the school is a residential section of Lancaster, and next to the proposed casino site is a residential section of Depew.
Are we expected to believe there's not a more suitable site for the casino than directly across from an elementary school and adjacent to two primarily residential areas? There is so much land available for development within the City of Buffalo. The Senecas don't want the historic, one-of-a-kind Central Terminal in the city for $1, but they want to pay millions for land and homes in Cheektowaga? Why is this? What is their motivation? Is their goal to see our way of life destroyed?

This plan will benefit a select few, such as Russell Salvatore. The Senecas will buy his home at a gain of $285,000, and his restaurant and hotel are located just a half mile away. This location benefits Salvatore, the Senecas and the Town of Cheektowaga, which gets the money from the casino while the residents of Depew, Lancaster, Bowmansville and Williamsville have to deal with all the negatives - the traffic impact on an already overburdened Transit Road, decreased property values and crime. There are no Cheektowaga residents adjacent to the proposed casino site.

Albany has sold out the residents of Western New York by circumventing the law and the wishes of the people to bring casino gambling here. If the people and the Legislature wanted casino gambling, the lawful process to legalize it in New York State would have been followed. But it is obvious the voters would never approve legalize gambling.

I was just wondering if there is any real proof about Transit Rd being overburden i've read that it is able to handle 32,000 cars a day can anyone verify this?

Also according to all the stories i've been hearing that this will hurt local businesses so how can you say Mr Salvatore is going to reap the rewards of the casino. There are a lot of contradictions about this topic people are only hearing one side of the story you guess witch one?

Well a few business people in Niagara falls have said business has droped.

But the biggie... it's a drain of money. Yes there's jobs but over all the amount of cash sucked from the communityis great. For starters we need to tell the state to go take a hike and the full percentage stays here in erie county with a percentage going to buffalo where the casino belongs.

Lets start looking at the past to plan the furture. Start making the density of attractions in buffalo.

The stadium could of been closer to buffalo.

We didn't really need the arena seeing the aud was never used and business didnt' grow around the arena.

With proper zoning the shopping centers should of been more centralized to buffalo. So what if people have to drive 5 more minutes. THe cost of the infracstructure to read all these places are a burden on the residents.

Lastly, we need to find a company that can build roads to last! Not this crap we seem to be getting lately in some areas. Plus do some of the roads built seem a little over engineered? maybe balance the funds evenly so we don't have cheaps roads in one area and over costly roads in another..

    the list goes on
