Right, but when religious groups lobby to turn their moral code into law, and thereby make things illegal that are not harmful to anyone else, they do real harm to those peoples lifes.
Anyways, we should move all these topics *to* the religion forum, so we can continue them without getting in trouble.

I never called for the removal of all references to religion. I said proselytizing and quoting scripture. You don't see me going around trying to convert people to be gay. You don't see me talking about the intimate details of what two lesbians do in the bedroom (though some of you would probably enjoy that) or two gay guys. See the difference?
kel , I've never dissed you or even "tolerated" your beliefs , I respect your beliefs , you wrote (post #4) , "Awesome!! Can we also make a rule against prosyletizing? Seriously. It gets OLD." , the "awesome" was for the removal of the religion forum , not for the prosyletizing.......that was the 2cd part of your post..........please don't paint all Christians with one stroke of the brush , you never have before , now I feel like you're lumping me into a hypocritical Christian cult , I guess you don't understand me 100% either , but it's OK , we can work it out![]()

Hello flutter , you point out 3 "deists" , you of course know that there were Christian Deists ? Jefferson & Washington were basically that , but how many founding fathers were there ? 10-20 times that 3 ? The majority believed in a Supreme Being , be they Episcopalian (sic?) , Baptists , Methodists , Lutherans , & they came here so they could "practice" their beliefs , not the forced belief systen that England plagued them with...........Every book written about John Adams has Christian quotes from most of those that founded our great nation , I think we have to agree to disagree , love one another , respect one another , tolerate with maturity (no "pot" shots like me having to "regurgitate" what me Pastor wants me to believe , I have my own mind & can decipher the Scriptures for myself , & will not judge you for your interpetation) , & I think we should get out of this thread before the res stops it again , now get in the last word so we can move on(that's my version of Bill O'Reilly , only I will let you say the last word , not like bill does.....)

I hate posting this because I feel like I'm proving you right, but you hit a salient point that I want to elaborate on.
The bolded part above. You're absolutely right. I don't care what faith anyone is, until they attempt to impose that faith on me.
And yes, like I said earlier, this thread needs to be moved to the religion forum since it is about the religion forum, and has turned into a religious discussion.

I try to have no problems with anybody , be it a football fan of some team (BUT the NY Yankees ARE the exception !! , THEY RULE) , or liberals , conservatives , demos , republic , etc. I don't force my beliefs on anyone , it's not my job , I really try to respect people's opinions , & hopefully they respect mine , I do fail at times , as we all do........But the res is right , the original"TOS" is to help make WNY a better place , & there's many ways to do it , let's hope we can all work together (I don't see why not) & try to make us flourish or at least a dream of flourishing again !![]()
