    Bikes to donate

Mrs. D and I are in the process of unloading stuff that has accumulated in our now-empty nest.

I tried to donate two bicycles to the annual police bike auction, but was told that APD cannot accept donated bikes - only abandoned ones.

Anyone have any ideas, short of leaving them at the curb and hoping the thief leaves a receipt?

The officer I was talking with has some bikes to get rid of, as well. (both mine are in good shape - girls 10-speed)

    Howdy,

Contact Joe Bachovchin at the Amherst Youth Bureau. He has needy families that could use a good bike.

I gave him a kid's bike last week.

    for once

Usually right is right. Good work doing the legwork on that. More people should be charitable in this manner.
