    NYS Law... basketball hoops

The New York State Constitution and the home rule law of the state of New York allow local governments to establish and enforce local ordinances and codes for subjects such as portable basketball hoops. Throughout the state of New York, portable basketball hoops are not permitted to be stored or used on public streets.

They cannot be in the street or on the town right-of-way.

Neighbor has one on his grass near the curb and his son is annoying everyone with bouncing of the ball up to nighttime, also he attached a baseball batting practice hitting ball to the shaft. The kid is annoying. When we drive down the street the kid hates to move. When he has his friends over they hit cars, walks all over people’s lawns etc…end of the street is the park and on the other side of north Creek is the basketball court will the kid go there too much of a bother to walk two blocks to the park court Instead the kid annoys the neighbors quality of life.

Wouldn't you rather have the kid shooting hoops instead of clobbering you over the head and robbing your house?

Is it on his property? Yes or No?

Define night time. How late will the kids play?

    Are the lawns being damaged?

Hitting the cars is a no no. I could see that being an issue but then again the parents would be liable for paint/glass damage.

What is louder? The bouncing basket ball or the exhaust on a Harley?

When we had kids living across the street from us we used to let them play baseball in the yard. As long as they picked up what they brought it was fine. Plus no tormenting of the animals.

Yea, can't stand those loud Harley motorcycles -

You should have known better than buy a house near people ! Did you think you'd always be the only one with loud pipes ?

    Sound familiar ????????

    You'll live..

I remember playing hockey on a side street when I was a kid... when a car came down we would move what ever we were using for a net...

Wouldn't you rather see kids outside versus being brain dead playing xbox?

I don't know the whole "noise" situation your facing so I can't really comment on that. Do you have A/C in the house or leave the windows open?

I brought up the harley noise because that is about the only sound I notice when I'm in the house.
