I know this thread was brought up before, but could not find it...Does any know od a trustworthy, honest coin dealer/buyer/appraiser in the WNY area?/
I have some old coins I may want to sell, if the price is right.
    Thanks again

Don't expect to get anywhere NEAR "book value."
Go to Ebay and do a search for each coin to get an idea of its market value and if it HAS BIDS, you may have something decent.
If the coin's auction's about to end and has NO bids, it MIGHT be junk.

Expect NO mercy from ANY coin dealers from stores or the newspapers or the web.
Coincidence is the word we use when we can't see the levers and pulleys.

One of my best friends is a gemologist , he's pretty much explained the diamond & precious gem industry to me , in "laymen's terms" , we've talked about coins & stamps of which he has a lot of knowledge , he said right now your best bet is to "hold on" to ALL coins you have , you can't get a legit price from a dealer or anyone who "deals" on the side right now , but I would give the res a PM , if you have something of interesting quality , he's a very honest guy , he'd try to help you out w/out screwing you..........

Actually, I did offer face value for the coins in your thread.

I am not 100% sure, but I think its majorly kennedy halfs and old quarters - lots of mint sets etc etc

thanks - someone here should be able to recommend someone....

and tell me what she should expect, so i can tell her how it works.....
