Some less that 20 years as someone pointed out on your blog. I also believe the person left out the salary compensation for the health care package and pension contribution. The figures below are only base salaries. If I am wrong correct me.

"Teachers in Clarence toil for 20 years before they even hit $50k per year" - Lie

The Following teachers are all about 40 years old or younger, or less than 20 years experience:

    Kerrie Pogodzinski 69100
    Jennie Rook 68484
    Doug Ratka 68221
    Roxanne Cook 64288
    Rich Gallagher 63738
    Bradley Wright 63106
    Andrew Bodemer 61794
    Russell Beebe 61552
    John Locurcio 60538
    James Ieda 58368
Ronald Kotlik 57656 (Over 40, less than 20 years)
    Kristin Howlett 53877

The following teachers are about 30 years old or younger, or about 10 or less years experience:

    James Neaubauer 53238
    Amie Vredenburg 51450 (hired 2008 - 2009 school year)
Bridget Sullivan 48111 (hired 2005-2006 school year)
    Daniel Graf 47783
    Keri Graf 47775
Kathryn Fry 47102 (hired 2007 -2008 school year)
    Heather Hartmann 47027 (Over 40, hired 2008 - 2009 school year)
    Megan Ward 46800

So unless these people were teaching in their teens, claiming they "toil" for 20 years making less than 50k is false. And that is just a quick look at see through ny, not an all inclusive list.
Plus you need to add up the entire pay for the position not just base pay. Either you are forgetting to and purposely leaving all the facts out. Which one is it?

Would you? Because my rate is significantly lower now than it was a few years ago. Here's the data for a random house in the Meadow Lakes area. This is actual tax dollars spent by the homeowner.

    2001 $2576 on a house assessed at $192,200
    2002 $3069 on a house assessed at $215,200
    2003 $3119 on a house assessed at $215,200
    2004 $3469 on a house assessed at $239,000
    2005 $3263 on a house assessed at $239,000
    2006 $3632 on a house assessed at $260,000
    2007 $3636 on a house assessed at $260,000
    2008 $3608 on a house assessed at $275,000
    2009 $3488 on a house assessed at $275,000
    2010 $3468 on a house assessed at $275,000
    2011 $3461 on a house assessed at $275,000
    2012 $3493 on a house assessed at $275,000
    2013 $3581 on a house assessed at $275,000

That drop from 3636 to 3581 is unsustainable! Respect the taxpayer!

Ok so it went down about 100 bucks over the course of six years but it went up 1,000 over the course of almost ten. Now I know you think Im no math wiz but i reckon thats about a 38% increase.

If we had a responsible board at the helm and the levy increases shouldn't the rate drop or at the very least be the same?

We should go back in time or get in the Tardis and re-constitute the boards from 10 years ago.

I didn't know your point was that the schools are quite responsive and careful about taxation in town. You're welcome!

    Alan,

    I don't care anymore.

Quite a few people in "Government" have no respect for the tax payer at all levels. Wait till you see the stuff coming to light in Cheektowaga.

You don't think that property/business owners have to deal with inflation? So you think "government" employees/elected officials should be shielded from economic down turns, Health insurance cost increases or issues they cause?

Example: High taxation tends to causes businesses to flee our state. That is a fact. If this wasn't true we wouldn't have the controlling political party coming up with gimmicks like Startupny or tax breaks/subsidizing businesses. They advertise on TV "Look what we are doing" while countless business still have to deal with the high taxation the group has caused.

Or something like laws that cause gun manufactures to leave our state.

They go on tv and say "Look at the jobs we created" while countless flee our state. Just BS Alan. You should know better. Your a lawyer.

Alan. When various employees (and I know not all do) are compensated 6+ figures while businesses/people flee it time for some sacrifices to be made.

There is some saying that goes something like this... "Each drop won't blame themselves for the flood they caused" Add up all the drops and before you know it we are the highest taxes area in the nation. Along with waste, nepotism and corruption.

Lets start out by saying 38% is not inflation. What a joke this has become.

    Adjusting for Infaltion
    2001 $3461
    2013 $3656

So there has been a 5% ($200 total or $15 per year) increase per say but

    the lowest $'s spent in inflation adjusted $ in order. 2001 $3461, 2012 $3618 -1.12%, 2013 $3656 +1.05%, 2011 $3659 -3.25%, 2010 $3782-2.2%

Have to give credit where credit is due.
