    Rats.

I had to call an exterminator to a relatives house to eliminate some ants that had started to become a nuisance near the garage. The house happens to be in the Allenhurst Apartments area.

    The exterminator started talking.

He told me that the neighborhood has a rat problem that is fed by the conditions at the Allenhurst Apartments. He said that he does some work on behalf of the Town Of Amherst and that he has told them of the problem. He said that Amherst officials didn't care. He said he has contacted the operators of the apartments and that they didn't care either.

Those apartments are the problem. Everyone in power knows it, but they don't care. Why? Is the landlord really that powerful?

How would someone nail somebody's ass to the wall for ignoring obvious problems?

where are the Allenhurst Apts? I had THREE exterminators to my house this spring after my cat was attacked by a gang of rats. I'm going to try and get WNY Res to post a picture of my poor cat after she had to go to the vet and receive $225.00 worth of medical care after her wounds swelled into a poisonous bump on her head. I emailed Susan Grelick, who responded quickly and followed by a sympathetic phome call from a man in "refuse control" who sent an exterminator who works for the town (probably the same man who spoke to you). I also had the Health Department over, and finally hired my own exterminator. Between the three exterminators, my cat ended up killing more rats than the three of them put together (10!). I now have cleared my property of rats, but my neighbors say they have evidence of rats (holes dug unger thier decks).

Get yourself a pair of wood chucks. I'm in cheektowaga and haven't seen a rat in my yard. My nieghbor said it the chucks that might keep the rats away.

Also, wouldn't it been cheaper just to get a new cat?

town officials and the owner know of the problems they have fostered.

now the continuing rat problem just may be the downfall. I saw someone from a nearby street videotaping the problems. since i know who he is, i'm sure he'll get the word out.

Yo, d00dz, this is nothing new.

There's so much bad about the Allenhurst Apartments, it's a reality show waiting to be programmed. I'm thinking of putting together a huge benefit concert, "Live 'hurst I". Y'know, 'cuz, obiously that community cannot care for itself.

I'm giving 1-2 odds that the bike does not make it back with her

Where are the people to save the rats? Or were they too busy saving the geese?

    I still.....

have wood chucks. Got rid of the rats myself. and a skunk too. Get your own trap & get rid of your own critters. If every one did that we would be rat free. But no, Everyone has to complain about them intead of just doing something about the problem themselves.

    Ratz

Mike: Long time no hear! Good to see the fire's still in the gut.
Buff: No bike rides to Allenhurst! Neither you, or the bike, will be seen again!

Good guy from Refuse is Len Fiegel (sp?). He cares and will help (as best that he can).

Maybe a call to Satish will help (sure).

    Hawaii was too far!

    Later.

My friend is a homeowner in the area and what you say is true. She has to chase people out of her yard constantly. One day as she was sitting watching TV, she looked over and there was a guy standing staring in her front window. She knows many of the tenants by sight, and every person she has had a problem with has been a tenant of the apartments. As for rats, she said there are tons of them, but she would rather the tenants move out and let the rats live there...
