This is an isolated incidence that occured in a school that is not in New York State.

It shouldnt be so much about protecting your child from discussions on sex education or sexuality, minorities, ethnicities, religion, etc....BUT THE JOB OF THE PARENT TO HAVE THE DISCUSSION WITH THEIR CHILDREN SO THAT YOUR CHILD CAN BALANCE THEIR INFORMATION WITH YOUR FAMILIES VALUES.

IF THAT FATHER THINKS THAT PULLING THAT CHILD OUT THE CLASS OR PROTESTING MADE ANY DIFFERENCE....HE IS SADLY MISTAKEN...HIS PROTEST WAS PROBABLY THE LUNCH ROOM CONVERSATION FOR WEEKS....KEEPING THAT TOPIC ALIVE.

our state says you can request your child not be taught against his religion but a parent has to do this in writing for each class or book they want skipped.Most parents dont bother

Public schools should be for teaching basic skills... reading, writing and arithmetic being the most important.
Why should public schools be teaching a 6 YEAR OLD! about homosexuals??????? What possible benefit is that for a 6 YEAR OLD! That's outragous!
In reality it's brainwashing at an early age...Big Brother wants to get em while they are young before they can start thinking for themselves about such subjects. They don't want free thinking individuals, they want politically correct BORG.

Do you really trust the government minions to teach your children government mandated morality courses? Or is it your job to teach your children what is right and wrong, moral or immoral?

Here's what I find ironic about this:

A few months ago there was a school bus driver in Grand Island who was fired because she kept talking to the kids about stem cell research. As it turned out, her husband was one of the posters on this board.

A lonf thread ensued on these message boards, with the right-leaning posters mostly feeling that she did nothing wrong.

I have a feeling (tell me if I'm wrong) that the people who are now saying the schools should NOT be talking about such a "scandalous" topic as homosexuality, are the same ones who were defending the bus drivers right to encourage the kids to go home and question their parents about stem cell research.

And, I lean right .. maybe not as far as others though.

I wouldn't send my children to government schools under any circumstances.

The students can't be expelled except for murder or the like. (At least that's what the teachers' unions are always telling us. "Private schools get to pick their students." Good!)

The teachers and administrators can't be fired except for the most outrageous felonious behavior and the curriculum is controlled by hack politicians or their appointees.

Nice atmosphere for the kids. Not mine!
