    Party With PPG

    Today, 7:14am By buffalorising

The Partnership for the Public Good (PPG) was launched by the Coalition for Economic Justice as a “think-and-do” tank to help conduct research while promoting advocacy and communication amongst its numerous partner organizations. They are funded in part by their partner organizations, but also by the Community Foundation of Greater Buffalo. To keep the conversation going on how to increase the public good in public policy, the PPG needs more support. Luckily, they know how to ask for help in style.

With Edreys as their host, they’re holding the “Holiday” Movement Dance Party at the Ujima Theatre in the “Theater Loft.” With a retinue of deejays and musicians, it sure will be a dance party you won’t want to miss. Dance your heart out and make the holiday cheer last a little bit longer while helping PPG as well as the Ujima Theatre and Buffalo First. The party happens the day after Christmas (Dec 26) at 545 Elmwood Avenue and starts at 9 PM. Tickets can be purchased in advance for half the price at brownpapertickets.com for just $5, but you can get a ticket at the door the day of for $10. Beer and win from Flying Bison will be on hand and you have to be 21 years old or older to get in, so be sure to bring your ID.

Any time I hear Orwellian terms like "common good" or "fair share" I cringe.

They say "common good" but what they really mean is the tyranny of the majority, class warfare, and the exploitation of the productive.

    That's wrong Zanna , it's "I wouldn't want to belong to a club that would have me as a member.............." Comprendez-vous ?

A million years ago, when I was in First Grade at St. Martin's, we all had "Think and Do" books. It was the only educational expense my parents had to cover.

St. Martin's , the good ole South Buffalo Catholic school ? We were public school kids , the kids from St. Martin's always told us we were going to he** because we weren't in Catholic schools...........funny stuff , because we went to religious instructions , & the "powers-that-be" (nuns , preists , etc.) , used to try to get us kids to convince our parents to send us to catholic school , even used propaganda on us But I always liked the kids from there..........

aw shucks I don't know .....I read the common good as tax people who work longer and harder to pay for people that don't.

Obviously not talking about CEO's of big corp's

IN NYS the little guy never get's screwed, in fact "he" get's the benefits of doing NOTHING and getting a handsome reward for it!

Is the middle guy who keeps getting pinched, weather it be the Big guy wanting more profits, this little guy wanting more benefits/rights or big brother wanting a massive pay raise for the "amazing work they doing for you".

Their is such thing as a "common good" all based on what you see as common!
