    Opening Day

Does anyone besides me care about our national past time any more?

If you are talking about the opening day of Trout season, I like to wait a few days after the opener. Seems to me that there is so many people that want to get out for the opening day of Trout season that it just is not much fun. I recall when Protection Pond was still open and still being stocked with Trout. Back in 1972 , there was so many people fishing in that pond on the opening day , that there was not much room to stand , let along try to cast a line into the water. The opening day also has a good chance of having bad weather. Oh, there have been some April 1st openers that have been warm, but the majority have either been cold or windy or rainy or snowing. Like yesterday and the day before.

I was big into baseball... until all the whiny multi-million dollar players decided to strike back in the 90s. That killed my interest in MLB.

Then I decided to start watching hockey... until all the whiny multi-million dollar players decided to strike last year. That killed my interest in the NHL.

C'mon NFL! Let's go for the triple crown!
