This is Excellent - Not so fast, Mr. Kaznowski

    Not so fast, Mr. Kaznowski

Four months ago, Stan Kaznowski criticized fellow Cheektowaga Town Board member Angela Wozniak for voting “nay” on a resolution calling for a public hearing on allowing dogs in town parks.

He questioned why she would vote against giving the residents an opportunity to speak on the matter.

Wozniak explained that she voted against the public hearing, because she disagreed with the dogs in parks proposition that excluded Stiglmeier and Town parks. She wanted dogs allowed in all parks.

What she should have done was vote for the public hearing, then dissent when the resolution came up for vote, which she did anyway. The Cheektowaga Bee chalked it up as a rookie mistake.

But Kaznowski has been a board member since 2008, long enough to be considered a seasoned veteran. So, this past Monday, why didn’t he support Wozniak’s proposal to hold a public hearing on establishing term limits?

Wozniak claims she has spoken to several citizens who want to see term limits imposed.
Let's be honest - she spoke to Ted. That's not really "several".

You mean you have spoken to the people who voted for the loser.

Here is Ted's plan for his next run for supervisor: "I can't beat Mary in election, so I need to get rid of Mary."

It's amazing that even "several" citizens would be fooled by that BS.

there is no rational reason to have term limits at the town level other than to give losers an opportunity to win an election that they couldn't achieve at the polls.

If the town voters don't want someone in office they can vote them out of office.

Why should they open it up to public discussion when the public elected them in the first place to make the decisions for us as a community

Because their decisions tend to be for party interest instead of putting the our community's interest first.

Their decisions are for the benefit of the majority of voters - the one's who elected them.

Apparently you don't understand how voting and a democracy works. The losers don't get to set policy. The winners get to set policy. There are constitutional limits, but just because Ted doesn't like the way things are run is not a limitation.

Ted lost, Mary won. The democrats won a majority of the town board, the republicans didn't. The town board will pursue democratic policies, not loser republican policies.

What part of that don't you understand?

So when any body is elected by the populace, than why even bother having an open board meeting with public attendance? Why not just have the board do their work behind closed doors and give us what we have coming, after all we elected them? We could save money by not needing a council chambers, no need for an agenda or employees to work the meeting.

Your correct. The majority of the "voters" but I'm looking at it in the interest of the majority of the town residents/businesses that pay taxes to live here.

Yes I do. YOu have to muster up enough people to go vote. You try to get them to vote for the person who has the same agenda as you do. You get enough of the same people with the same agenda on the town board you can run the town the way you see fit using the rules set in place. You have a set of primaries as well as general elections. You need to be involved in the primaries just as much as the general elections.

    Following me now?

What part of that don't you understand?

We need to work on the primaries to get more like minded people on our town board. Wouldn't you agree?

Angela won a set on the town board. do you know how many seats there are on our Town board? Do you know how a town board functions? Apparently not because you think angela's election to the town board gave her the majority vote and made Ted the surrogate town supervisor.

What part of the word "majority" don't you understand?
