    It is how you apply yourself.

    I see some of what she says applying to elected officials.

    I think some people who are elected at any level of "Government" treat it more as a social club/status symbol versus a job at hand. I might be wording myself incorrectly.

    right - being a good salesman says nothing about a person's character. It is simply about money. But when people value money above all else, it does say a lot about their lack of good character.

    I hope all my children are financially successful, but I'll be disappointed if that is their greatest achievement in their lives.

    When that happens the community's best interest isn't taken into account.
