Yes, of course, Christians come in all colors. Likely, African Americans come in all faiths.

So, what is your point? Why is it that you are offended by a politician who reaches out to a certain racial group, but you're not offended by a politician who reaches out to a specific religious group?

I'm not defending it. I'm saying it's not racist.

I'm not offended. Why would I be? I commented because of your comment.

All the Republican candidates have been actively organizing Christians, using every moment that can at the debates to reach out to the Catholic vote. But that's OK? It's OK for a candidate to organize a religious group, but not a racial group?
But let me tell you this...

If one of the republican guys started up a "Caucasians" for "Republican Candidate" there would be democrats twisting that any way they could. Ever listen to Al Sharpton?

If a candidate started a group Caucasians for candidate then said candidate would be a racist. I don't know why the Obama campaign has done this, to me it is nothing short of racism as well. It's really out of left field. I can see pandering to a specific group, but coming out and saying "people of this skin color should vote for me because I have the same skin color" is well, racist.

I doubt that Obama personally has asked for this; it's probably his campaign manager and he likely doesn't even know it's going on. Obama has tried to be post-racial for most of his term.

I have come out of posting retirement to address the sheer stupidity of this post.

African American is not an equivalent to White. African Americans are a group with a shared culture and history. African American is more of an equivalent to Irish, Italian or Polish. They are all groups who have a shared culture and history.

These are in fact very common in large campaigns.

In fact there was even an African Americans for Bush and JC Watts was the Chairman.
