People, Dino Fudoli is 1 vote. His hands are tied.
But, don't jump here---It appears that McCracken is doing a good job so far managing both jobs. However, summer is approaching--that will tell the tale. Let's give him a chance.

Another McCracken has been appointed to the Erie County Sewer District #4 Board. Kristan McCracken, wife of Terry McCracken was not only appointed to the board but voted in as Chair by other members.
Lancater Town Engineer Robert Harris, of Shutt & Associates Engineering was also appointed to the board.
They replace former Chair Robert Giza and one-time Town Engineer Robert Lubenski.
I understand that Supervisor Fudoli applied for a board position. Well, he didn't get it. Mr. Polancarz must have nixed that application - if it got to his desk.
Seems to be a lot of "all in the family" when it comes to wny politics...

Maybe lots of "poop experience" runs in that family? Why not put the ones who know poop in it?

This is just a small glimpse of what is status quo n local politics. In Towns like Lancaster its easier to see, mostly because the "Patronage" is limited. Parks Boss/Dem Party Boss and now County Leg member has been a part of the game most of his adult life. His new wife is also from a devoted Dem Committee higher level family.
So it starts with his son getting a local tax funded position and then his wife gets a few seemingly small positions. Next thing you know they all get tax funded futures including pensions. But in all fairness, you can't blame them - its the way of their piers. They see it as entitlement - as just what they deserve because they know how to "Play the Game"
They are playing the game our parents helped create and condoned. How and where does it end? When will those who ignore it understand they pay for it - Taxes are the grease that spins the wheel!
No tax funded patronage job, not running for Office , I speak for myself.
When will voters out number tax funded employees at the polls?
ecretary affairSince Poloncarz is the person who appoints the board members of the sewer districts, I'm betting he got the application. IMHO, he has had a hard-on for Fudoli since he took office regarding the IDA and he also had his nose in the lay off situation when Fudoli hired a secretary.Originally posted by Lee Chowaniec:

What position is McCracken honing his wife for? First he pushes for her to be out on the town planning board and now the sewer district board. Is the husband and wife team going to run for Stempniak and Fudoli's positions in 2015?
Doesn't this smell as a conflict of interest? Legislator McCracken is the chair person of the Energy & Environment committee. One of the services overseen by the E & E committee is the efficient removal of sewage. And now his wife is appointed to chair of one of those sewer districts his committee oversees. I guess it isn't a conflict of interest but it sure is nepotism.
He's probably the only husband who hears his wife say,"Let's try a new position" and she doesn't mean sex.

That is why we need the Ethics in place. Perhaps this would be one those appointments that would require more of a closer look.
Anyone hear anything about the appointments of the Committee yet?
I believe that would go to the Erie County ethics committeeOriginally posted by shortstuff:

If its non paid what does mrs. Mck do for a living ?
Also, Polincarz has the sole authority to nix applicants?
Wait a minute, I am not saying these specific people are cheating anyone.
What I am suggesting and exposing is the facts as to how and why our Government spends millions of tax dollars. This is not limited to any one group or family - its almost a "Traditional employment/Career Choice."
When you break it all down - "Politics" is a "Employment" opportunity - it wasn't supposed to be that way.
There is also two "Golden Parachutes" for those who are successful. One is a tax funded life style and tax funded pension(plus benefits) as well as a early retirement incentive plan. That plan includes alternative tax funded/supported position after you leave office and can be over and above what your past position entitled you to.
