Exclamation Support POWs from 1st Iraq

    http://www.voanews.com/english/archi...TOKEN=26583489

Americans held by Iraq during the Gulf War in 1991 testified to Congress Tuesday about their efforts to obtain hundreds of millions of dollars in compensation and punitive damages from the Iraqi government. VOA's Dan Robinson reports from Capitol Hill.
    .................

"The president has not satisfactorily explained why these fundamental [legal] principles should be disregarded here, nor has he satisfactorily explained why all of Iraq's assets must be shielded, even while it is reaping billions upon billions of dollars from its oil fields, and while it is readily paying off pre-war commercial debts to foreign corporations totaling $4.4 million," he said.

I guess this administration is more interested in covering their butts from Abu Ghraib than standing with our POW's from the 1st war in Iraq.

    Question

I guess no republican wants to defend this administration.

Usually I get bashed about being a liberal, leftwinger, etc.

Does the silence mean you actually agree with this administration or no?

We should support our troops here at home and take care of their needs from within.
We should not ever enter into lawsuits of war reparations for prisoners.
It would only open the door for countries to do just the reverse against the US.

I support a decision to deny their suit.

Good thought, if this were held up, what about all the other conflicts, Vietnam, both us and the French. The families of the dutch that were killed for fraternizing with Nazi's would also want reparations!
