There is an excellent website I'll find the link for. A little history of the bars around Buffalo.

The Masthead must have been a cold place to drink what with no roof and walls and whatnot.
The difference between taxes and robbery is the mode of coercion.

BTW...one of my local haunts used to be Hotel California on Hertel and Virgil which is now Senior Housing.

There used to be a drive-in in West Seneca I frequented which is now a medical complex.

    Pretty telling.

    Never knew it as "alliota's".

BTW: I won't ask how old you are, but where were you drinking when Mckinley was shot?

Hey big, your right around my century. I have two bars we used to frequent one was at the corner of Main and Transit I believe and the second one was in Lockport always good for Rock N Roll bands I just can't remember names in the mid 70's. I remember coming home one night from Lockport in a blinding snow storm and my buddy spun out twice and took out a mailbox all three times we had to get out and push him out. I just remembered the name I think it was After Dark a long ride just to party.

Before it was the After Dark it was called Keystone 90s.

On Main just east of Transit was Harvey and Corky's Stage One. U2 played there.

I miss McVans... live music 7 nights a week. Owner Joe Tirose would give anybody a chance to play there, usually on a Sunday night with two other bands. If you did well, he'd let you open on a Friday or Saturday.
