    Recycling & Citit Stat

The Buffalo News today has an article showing a failing grade by the city on recycling....

    http://www.buffalonews.com/cityregio...ry/247303.html

Buffalo’s recycling program is a failure that needs bold strategies to boost anemic participation rates, city officials said Tuesday.
The criticism surfaced as the Common Council voted to extend a joint recycling effort with Erie County through December. But in approving the contract, some lawmakers made it clear they want to see better results by the end of the year.
The percentage of waste being recycled in the city dropped from a high of about 14 percent in the mid-1990s to about 8 percent today. Many comparable cities are recycling at least one-third of their waste, according to experts.
But what about CitiStat? This much heralded program should have caught the problems, don't ya think? Just another ploy to make you think things have changed.

    Wake up Buffalo! It's *hitiStat!

CitiStat is not the answer to everything......the only people that believe it is are the same people that call on elected officials to solve all of thier personal daily problems.

Residents are are not subject to CitiStat review..they are not called upon to answer for not being responsible

Why take a shot at the administration for this?...you are really reaching. Why not hold the neighbors of those not recycling accountable, why arent they making them recycle? Why arent they going through the neighbors trash and recycling for them?????

WHY DO SOME INSIST THAT WRONG IS EVERYTHING GOVERNMENTS FAULT!

Of course this me be over your head, but CitiStat is a tracking system. It is supposed to monitor things like the amount of recycling (collected, processed, paid out, etc) being done. So why didn't the administration know earlier (via *hitistat), issued some assistance to the local media to ramp up citizen participation?

The administration has been hailing the implementation of this puppy as the second coming of Christ. It is not my responsibility to call johnny next door, maybe he has no recycling. Do I even have to answer that asinine question about invading my neighbor's recycling? I don't blame government, I blame those (Byron Boob) who pontificate that they will fix everything.

Why do you seem hell bent on defending this administration? ....you are not informed as to what CitiStat is tasked to do. Why not hold your government officials accountable for not producing? It's your taxes that will go up, why don't you just pay an extra $100 to the administration if they are doing such a bang up job?

WHY DO SOME INSIST ON BEING IGNORANT ABOUT THEIR GOVERNMENT AND NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT?
