Though it's not the basis of my post, I've read in here through posts, threads and the editorials on this site where similar situations have occured in other communities.

I believe it's refered to as honest graft. The graft comes at our expense.

    Cool

    "Graft" is Graft.

But, a "smear" is also a smear.

Show PROOF and/or FACTS, or apologize to the Building and Fire Inspectors.

It is easy to take shots from an anonymous perch, but much more difficult to stand and prove your point or admit that you were just trying to denegrate a person that you might not like.

If you're correct, many would be grateful for your disclosure.
If you're blowing smoke, many would see your true intentions!

    Enough pontificating.

On another note, today's WS "Swearing In " Ceremony was well attended and well run. Lots of people, lots of enthusiasm for the New Year in West Seneca. Very positive!

    Happy New Year!

    Happy New Year!

Ralfie Lorigo was front and center. I wonder if he was handing out Marrano's business cards to Wally and the new members?

I'm assuming we've never met, so it must be a coincidence that I've heard talk of the Building Inspector being on the receiving end of some favorable transactions too...
Same with the issuance of building permits.

I do know when I've called him nothing ever gets done.

Flash, Supervisor Lein convicted, and other indictments will follow in graft case in West Seneca. Cosgrove implicated. West Seneca is not immune.

Rest assured, if there's something in it for the building inspector it will be addressed. Those I mentioned as well as someone else in the Engineering Dept. have long pored over town maps of vacant parcels to obtain or build upon. I never said it was illegal. But it is certainly advantageous to have such resources and be able to excercise influence as a public official. Not too mention the ability to seek zoning changes to maximize the opportunity of the parcels and properties. As well as no one inspecting their work when they build or remodel. Trust me they keep a close eye on many desirable parcels. There are others, such as the receiver of taxes who happens to also be a realtor. She has befriended, usually elderly, and used her status as someone they can trust to look out for "their best interests" and has attempted to "assist" some in selling their properties. She also is the first to know of foreclosures, giving her a leg up on others to seek potential buyers of these properties. Maybe it's just the benefit of being on the inside, but as town officials and officers it certainly can appear to be something of an unfair advantage for them to "cash in on".

I'd like to know how much, if any, of the soccer park land previously belonged to Tim Greenan's family law firm. Was it just coincidence that their property abuts the soccer park and where the road went through ? Again nothing illegal, but as a town attorney at the time of the transaction if it were that they owned any of that land, what a sweet deal for a town official. Once is a coincidence, repeatedly for officials getting an inside track on deals like this, certainly not reassuring that they have the taxpayers interest first and foremost in mind as servants to the public.

Spirit, check their oath of office for "conflict of interest."
