The purpuse of this law is the protection of the public and not to punish the officer in which a proceeding based on it is brought against. So the burden of proof is by a preponderance of the evidence as typically utilized in civil cases rather than beyond a reasonable doubt standard used in criminal prosecutions.

It is interesting the reaction of some reading something more into my original post than was there. It piques my curiosity as to whether or not something is afoot.

Both also have friends/advisors on high. I doubt very much anyone is going to be enlightening them about anything that they don't already know.
Then they should not be concerned to the citizenry holding them up to those high standards public officers should adhere to. So why the reaction that you and others are having?

    Idiot

Yeah, there's something afoot alright. You want people to do your dirty work and name names so you can either sit back and smile or jump in and criticize. And all the while letting others throw the first name out. And it piques your interest? No, I did not read anything more into your post other than the fact that it was spineless and gutless on your part. Nothing more and nothing less.

Warren, you love the law so much, you should be a lawyer, perhaps run for office. You are one of the few who do not use an alias, and are not afraid to be personally known. You would probably get a fair number of clients from this forum.

I know a fellow who was sent to jail. He is smart, and got a job in guess what, the library. He became pretty good with the law, and caused his former wife and her lawyer alot of grief. Just curious as to how you became so interested in the law, what resources you use, Lexus?, Nexus? or whatever.

I am slowly working my way to my undergrad degree and hopefully law school. It is a long term goal for me, I did start late in life. I went into the military after high school and had to work full time since. The thought of running for office has been crossing my mind more and more these days although I initially had no such intention.

DT is very intelligent man, and I would welcome him in town government. Eb, often it is best to ask the question before you need an answer. But there are those in WS government who, like some things in my son's frig, are past there expiration date.

I would question Bill Czuprynski's effectiveness in his position. My dealings with him have been highly frustrating, and several others I have spoken with have agreed. Difficult to reach, unresponsive to calls, and just plain miserable most of the time. Getting him to do his job is often the hardest part of any project.

It's been my understanding that the Building Inspector, as well as the Fire Inspector, on occasions have come upon some advantageous real estate transactions in town through out their time as civil servants. I will add that if so, it could well be on the level and not be of conflict with their standing and public trust as town officials.

I'd like to re-emphasize "it could", though their status can influence and gain leverage and an advantage most ordinarily would never have in these types of ventures that they've undertaken in thier tenure.

You smear someone, no one replies, and then you "re-emphasize" the smear just in case no one noticed. I think that SOE could be stealing cable. Tomorrow, I will re-emphasize it.
