I saw this the other night and thought to myself: Big deal. He was three years behind. Isn't that when they nail the foreclosure notice to the door? I'm wondering if he originally protested his taxes by not paying his taxes for three years and then when the notice came he had another stellar idea of paying in one dollar bills?
    just a thought ...

When he didn't pay his taxes he was sucking off his fellow citizens. who does he think was paying for all the services he was using over the last three years? He was a blood sucking deadbeat.

Like those who don't pay their federal taxes. How do they think the military, law enforcement, medical research, and other government expenditures are funded?

They know they are leaching off their fellow citizens. They apparently think they are better then the rest of us.

Raymond Troutman should be a tea party candidate. He exhibits all the "only me" attitude that seems to be the theme of local tea party "leaders."

Maybe if more 'land owners' failed to pay their property taxes, our local govt's would take a step back and realize that land owners arnt cash cows.

Hell, you go out, work your ass off for years and years to buy a home. you pay your hard earned money for said home. And the home is supposedly 'yours' Yet, unless you pay the local govt 'rent' ie taxes, the local govt siezes your property. How is that justified? Because said land owner was 'leaching' services off his neighbors? Why not just stop those services to parcels that havent paid their taxes, instead?

What right does the govt have to steal property from another?

Its like if you have no children, yet own your own home, you must pay school taxes, or the govt will take your property away from you. Some of you will then say move to another part of the country. well how does that rectify the situation? It doesnt. Infact it just makes the situation worse for those left behind.

Local taxes are a function of local government. Go out and vote if you don't like what the majority of voters in your local government unit have voted for.

If you can't persuade people to think your way, then either suffer the consequences or move to some place where the majority thinks your way.

It's one thing if you run into financial difficulties and need help. I think local governments should have loan programs to help homeowners pay their tax liabilities in appropriate situations. A type of "reverse mortgage" could be used to fund the property tax for a 2 or 3 year period if a homeowner is facing financial difficulties.

But choosing to not pay your taxes is not an option. Tax deadbeats are like child support deadbeats. They are relying on others to foot the bill.

I don't like billions of subsidies for oil companies being spent through tax expenditures, but that wouldn't justify not paying my federal taxes.

ya cause voting has done such great things for this country. Sometimes to get the attention of your govt, drastic non violent measures need to be taken.

You do realize that almost all of those "billions" are the same "billions" that your company or my company or GE gets right?

The left likes attacking oil because most of their base is ignorant to the tax laws!

You do realize that you don't know what you re talking about and are just regurgitating BS from Faux News:

an examination of the American tax code indicates that oil production is among the most heavily subsidized businesses, with tax breaks available at virtually every stage of the exploration and extraction process.

According to the most recent study by the Congressional Budget Office, released in 2005, capital investments like oil field leases and drilling equipment are taxed at an effective rate of 9 percent, significantly lower than the overall rate of 25 percent for businesses in general and lower than virtually any other industry.

And for many small and midsize oil companies, the tax on capital investments is so low that it is more than eliminated by various credits. These companies’ returns on those investments are often higher after taxes than before.

Yepper, in Catt County, they don't mess around. Three years of missed tax payments, and they will seize your property and sell it at auction -- and no, you don't get the proceeds in excess of the taxes owed.

So, who should pay for maintaining and plowing the road outside your home? Who should pay for the town police or the sheriff's road patrols? Who should pay for the new ambulance or hazmat equipment for the volunteer fire department?

Somebody paid for your education, didn't they? Unfortunately, they didn't get their money's worth with you.
