disposing of half used paint cans

Anyone know where I can get rid of a large amount of half-used paint cans? Normally I'd just toss them in the trash, but 40+ cans is probably excessive. I called home depot and lowes but neither offer any disposal program.

There's a paint thickener sold at most places like Lowes, that works.
I had several cans and nobody would take them. When I mixed this in it thickened and dried fast and sanitation picked them all up.

if it is latex mix in saw dust or used cat litter to dry it out then every week put four or five in the garbage if it is any other type of paint you need to find who is having a hazard pick up
