Tim Kennedy begins "change" in Albany

Tim Kennedy, while in Albany earlier this week has begun changing Albany by pledging his support for Dem leader John Sampson. yes, THAT John Sampson who was involved with the AEG casino scam, the bad budgets, the coup, etc.

"- Tim Kennedy, of Buffalo, was also in Albany. He arrived late to the closed-door conference meeting, I’m told, and wasn’t allowed in because the man he defeated in the September primary, Sen. Bill Stachowski, was already inside. (It still remains a mystery to me why outgoing senators were allowed to cast a vote on who will be leader for a session they won’t be attending).

Kennedy met later with Sampson for over an hour and pledged his support to the Brooklyn Democrat, according to one Senate source.

UPDATE: Another Senate source informs me that while the outgoing lawmakers were allowed in the room for this debate, they did not cast votes"

    You fools fell for it!

Tim Kennedy should kiss our ass in WNY not the corrupt senate leadership..

I hope he is not trying to keep Pigeon on the dole by sucking up..

This "article" is BS. That's why I questioned where it was from. It seems to be a blog by somebody who's just trying to stir up a bruhaha over nothing, either out of ignorance or spite.

The new legislative term doesn't start until January 1, so guys like Kennedy and others don't have any official standing to do or decide anything. If they're in Albany, then they're there to check out housing, offices, etc. They can't vote on anything.

Moreover, the outgoing legislators are still legislators until 12:00 AM January 1, 2011. They have the right to vote on anything that the leadership brings up. That said, the legislative session legally ends 12:00 AM January 1, 2011, when a new session starts. All the legislators, old and new, are sworn in on Jan 1. Then the new legisture elects its new leadership. This might all be already decided, but there's nothing illegal or nefarious about the process at all, particularly since this was a "meeting" and not anything official!

If Paterson hadn't called a special session, probably none of the current legislators would even be in Albany.

I can assure you he is. Did anyone hear his victory speech? He just kept praising Brian Higgins over and over. I swear he loves that guy more than his wife. I've known Kennedy for 20 years. He has no interest in change. He will do whatever Steve Pigeon and Florida resident Jim Keane tell him to. He worked in the private sector for about 6 months as an occupational therapist before he was anointed as an Erie County Legislator. I heard him during the campaign talk about being a private sector worker for over 10 years. He is well known in his community for being very dense .
