    The word around WS is...

The word around WS is that Cindy Locklear isn't doing good. In the Legislature, what has she really gotten done? She doesn't make appearances and as a candidate of the (non-existent) tax revolt, she won't take a reduction in pay. I heard she burned bridges with union leaders and constituents in her own party. You may not agree with everyone all of the time but people still have to work together. I get the feeling Cindy wants things her way or no way at all.

Any thoughts? Any links to dispel the rumors?

In all honesty, how would anyone know if she was doing a good job or a bad job? What is it she ran on? Did she accomplish it?

What type of ability do they have to install change? As naive as it may sound, the only thing I see anyone in that job doing is relaying information after the fact...I just do see them being able to implement change or stop a project. The engineering department and the lawyers seem to have the most sway in my limited experience.

the fact that she has alienated union leaders SPEAKS VOLUMES!

...and who cares about a reduction, we just don't want raises.

Like them or not unions are not going away. Being a politician is (to a degree) the art of compromising and listening to what anyone has to say. From what I hear Cindy isn't following this kind of performance. How do you know what kind of negociations are on the table if you don't give them a chance to tell you?

Unions have had their way with politicians long enough around here; look where THAT has gotten us. I give Cindy a lot of credit for not playing it the time-honored way. We need more like her.

Here is the Free Buffalo candidate survey from 2 years ago. Has she fulfilled her promises up to this point?

    6. Please list any new programs or major spending you believe County Government should undertake:

All ‘fully funded’ (ie, state and federal grant projects) capital projects (highway/infrastructure) should be awarded and authorized to proceed; revenue generating functions and services that were terminated should be re-examined for possible re-activation; no new ‘lines of business’ should be pursued by County Government; new spending for efficiency, municipal collaboration partnerships, and process improvement services and investments should be investigated.

    7. Which of the following County spending programs do you favor eliminating (if the County had the legal power to do so):

Politicians have their way with other politicians the same way There are more back door deals than you think between politicians than negociations with unions. A little secret. You can't win elections by burning all the bridges you don't like.

I don't see you posting in this thread Mr. ES1. If you have something to say about me, do it in the thread you're trying to shame me on. The wolf in sheep's clothing thread I created about one legislator.

    Change in EC?

I give Cindy credit for trying, even if it is simply by bucking her party. Most of the candidates preached that they were going to change County government, and they have done what? Face it, few people are willing to risk a 40K a year part-time job, calling the unions to task to make things right for the people. Now, before I get dumped on because of that comment, I am not against unions! What I am against is greed, and the holding of any business hostage. I also include inflated salaries for unnessary patronage jobs. County government needs to be trimed from top down. Unfortunately, the biggest drains on the system are the mandates and entitlement programs. When our legislature can do something about that, then we will see true reform!
I'd rather be hated for who I am... than loved for who I'm not!

I heard this is exactly how you are dealing with people though. Avoid the real questions. That's sad.

I was not aware there had been a "real question" posed to me. Do you have a link to a post that constitutes a question directed to me?

    For Your Reference:
    1. I tend not to respond to gratuitously derogatory comments.

    2. I reserve the right, always, to decline to engage in conversations with bashers/plants/baiters who chose to post anonymously under pseudonyms.

If you have a moment I'd like to hear what you have to say about Princeton Estates. There is a thread regarding it in the West Seneca forum. Thanks in advance.
