    Main St. traffic

After delays primarily caused by New York state’s budget standoff, money allocated for the next phase of the “Cars Sharing Main Street” program have been freed up.

Buffalo Place Inc. officials confirmed the nearly $6 million in federal pass-through dollars has cleared Albany’s hurdle and are bound for Buffalo. The funds are considered crucial for the design and construction work that will bring one northbound and southbound lane of vehicular traffic to the Theater District block of downtown Buffalo, running along Main Street between Tupper and Chippewa streets.

“All of the waiting is over,” said Debra Chernoff, Buffalo Place manager of planning.
People who wonder if the glass is half empty or full miss the point. The glass is refillable.

Opening up main street to traffic is a stupid idea. Main street is dying / dead. Opening it up to cars will not create a miracle and bring it back. I'd love to see all the people clamoring for this 5 years from now when things haven't changed but millions will have been spent. Idiots.
