Snow And Blowing Snow Advisory Set For Monday

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - The National Weather Service has issued a snow and blowing snow advisory for all of Western New York beginning at 4:00 am Monday. An arctic front will be moving through the area tomorrow, leaving only about an inch of snow in its wake but there will also be strong winds of 30-40 miles an hour involved with the system which will lead to blowing snow and some white-out conditions. The advisory will expire at 4:00 pm Monday.

The stores at the mall better schedule extra help for tomorrow because there will be a lot of kids with nothing to do. I hope the schools don't wait until 6:45am to close!

My guess is that they won't close the schools.

Maybe not Monday morning, but the weather forecast for Tuesday AM is single digit temps, double digit wind speeds, negative double digit wind chills.

That was enough to close schools around WNY earlier in the year...unless of course, there were other esoteric considerations.

I agree...now the information I have is that the wind chill factor or "the real feel" has to be below -15* before the schools close. So we will see.
