You are very apparent you don't want Diane to be your boss so let me know who you are supporting.
If and when the min wage goes up to $15/hr .. it will not include benefits by default...but for those town employees and others making less then $15/hr (not including thee benefits)...they will now make a lot more...probably closer to $25/hr with all the town benefits.

ALL us already over taxed town residents will have to fork out more money to the Cheektowaga friends and family employment agency and that will surely increase or tax bills a chunk of change...add this to the sewer project that is coming and you can kiss my tax paying ass goodbye as I will without a doubt sell my home and move out of this state!

First you try blame Republicans for Village and Town level contracts given to tax funded employees. Then you switch to the County level and say, "Lets only look at what they get now"

You cant forget how we got to where we are today - the majority of these contracts and patronage have a direct history to one Social Club in Erie County.

Average out the percentage of Political Control of the County in total. The Public services unions have always been the biggest Dem supporters - WHY - because they get bigger contracts from them.

Anyone who works in the Fire Service, Law Enforcement, Jails, Corrections, Courts, or Town and Village services knows that fact. Patronage is the mainstay of Political Control - Fact !

Take it one step higher - NYS has more Government Employees then most states in the Country - NYS has the highest taxes in the Country - who's Controlled the State for the most part - percentage of time - Democratic Social Club.

If one looks honestly at the BIG PICTURE - our Governor could - for legal reasons be removed - every other week we see more and more proof of Elected Dems in all levels of our Government being charged with crimes - caught speaking like racists - and many making money off their Political Positions - its time t face facts - WE NEED CHANGE !

My point was this(with that sentence - "PS - you cant blame the employees - they have families to feed so logic is go where the milk flows freely !")

The tax funded employee/workers are the "Pawns" - they are in the middle of the "Game" - like a football.

The Politicians and Party Players play on human nature by holding out the carrot/promise of more money - more benefits. The worker/employee in many cases look at this innocently - feeling they deserve more - thats the American way !

Their told - "be a good team player
    - help forward our agenda and support those who support us !"

The Unions for "tax funded public services" are way different from the ones our Grand Parents knew for industry or corporate/factory laborers ! There wasn't the same fight for working wages or fair work conditions - it is more like regurgitate what the old Unions said and beat the drum.

Then you have the fact most of these guys now are "Politicians" themselves.[U] They mimic the lines and slogans of old day leaders.[/B]

Yet at the same time they are in collusion with the tax funded Government and their Parties. Many achieve high ranking jobs and positions with the same Government they "Fight" against at contract time.

They are more like "Lobbyists in Training"

Its a grand "Dog and Pony Show" between Politicians and tax funded employees.

Take it a step further - the Boss's, Supervisors and Crew Leaders are "Politically Connected/Married" - they are appointed - and elected usually by the Controlling Party.

So like I stated - the Tax Funded Employee/Worker is like the "Political Football" - used by the Players.

My problem is CURRENT and PAST town boards only no how to spend or reduce....NOT CUT spending....the later will reduce taxes only if you cut more then spending increases....yes it will cost some services and some jobs...if it is not mandatory then CUT, CUT, CUT!

Also instead of town employees working at only 50% of productivity which means you need more employees....crack the whip on them...get 100 to 120% out of them ....no sending employees home with 8hrs pay after only working 4 or 5hrs.

I myself would often produce 120% plus efficiency in my job....that means in a 40hrs work week I would do 48+hrs worth of production!

Town employees work for us...the tax payers and they should be ready, willing, and able to give us 100% every day...but the friends, family and politically connected atmosphere have created too many slackers getting paid too much increasing our tax bills....once again your either part of the solution or part of the problem!

Your post is really off topic. This discussion is about whether you agree with Diane Benczkowski being the only elected official in Cheektowaga and one of the few in Erie County to support fast food workers making $15/hr? And should she do the same in Cheektowaga with Town employees, paid for by tax increases and cuts in pay to employees making over $15/hr? Did you even read the letter she signed? I support Diane Benczkowski's plan 100%, even if people call it "socialism." Do you? I will vote for her, will you?

It is relevant...if you going to have to pay them $15/hr and more then it needs even more attention!

Would Diane support it if she had to pay her employees $15/hr out of her bank account?

I just support Diane Benczkowski because the letter she signed saying that fast food workers should make $15/hr, so I can't speak for her. You should ask her whether she would pay for it out of her own personal bank account and find out?

Since a Progressive liberal Democrat elected official like Diane Benczcowski can sign on to this "socialistic" plan even though no other Town elected officials did, and none of our county or state reps did either, maybe once she is elected she will raise the wages of the jobs under her control. Many Town of Cheektowaga employees make less than $15/hr, so all we have to do is raise taxes a small amount to give them all a raise. Then the process repeats itself until we have everyone making a real and decent wage.
Hrmm. If this isn't trolling I don't know what is.

I know for sure I am not voting for Alice Magierski. You want to see your taxes skyrocket, then vote for Alice. She's being backed by Frank Max, Jeff Swiatek and Paul Tocaz. Let's move on away from all these old party players.

What is? Having a substantive debate for once instead of slinging personal attacks or repeating the same stale worn out bs we've been hearing for years. Wages are stagnant in this country, the NYS Wage Board recommended that fast food workers be paid $15/hr., and we in Cheektowaga have one of the only local officials in Erie County who support that increase, as do I. I support Diane Benczkowski's plan because I agree that fast food workers make $15/hr, even if it is called "socialistic." I agree with her even if it results in slightly higher prices or a few less businesses, and I support that she should extend it to Town of Cheektowaga employees, even if it raises taxes a small amount. Make a real point or go back to supporting the conservative Democratic machine in NYS by basically acting like Republicans. Or do you just personally dislike Diane or fast food workers?

Answer one simple question, do you support the plan in Diane's letter to raise the wages of fast food workers to $15/hr ?

Below is the link to the letter, again, because you clearly didn't even read that, either.

Who are you even talking about? Did you even read the letter? How about a substantive and on-topic debate? All i get on here is random name dropping and crazy stuff about random people and things that happened years ago. I support $15/hr. for fast food workers, so does Diane Benczkowski, so what is your opinion on that specific topic?

I agree wages for many skilled works in NYS lag behind what is paid in other states....notice I said SKILLED.

I do not agree to increased wages and property taxes....if you can find a way to increase the wages while cutting my property taxes I would consider supporting it....find a way to do it by cutting my property taxes by at least 25% and make it a long lasting cut and I will be your number one supporter!

the only place that used the word socialistic is you.
And the way you word your statements is like you are going out of your way to put the words like supports 15 dollar an hour fast food workers, socialism, raise taxes and Diane Benczkowski together as many times as you can and then alluding to the fact that she would some how also use this logic to raise the taxes and raise town employee pay?
You obviously aren't a supporter of hers and are going out of your way to try and get out the fact that through her working party endorsement she signed on a letter with a bunch of other people that probably got that party endorsement that she supports the fast food workers making 15 dollars an hour. I doubt most of those people know their names are on that paper. its probably some dumb thing that went along from getting that third party endorsement.
you also started calling it Dianes letter like she wrote it.
    Its trolling.
