The free program -- dubbed iSciWNY -- was formally announced Tuesday morning at UB’s New York State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences in downtown Buffalo. It will combine workshops, training programs, a Web site and an information kit about the life sciences industry, with the intent to reach out to workers of all skills and levels who are interested in the sector.

It is available for those living in Erie, Niagara, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties through the Buffalo and Erie County Workforce Investment Board Inc., as well as residents of Genesee, Livingston, Orleans and Wyoming counties through the Genesee County Economic Development Center.
