Professor Edward L. Glaeser, author of “Can Buffalo Ever Come Back?” an article published in City Journal, will be in Buffalo to participate in a forum to discuss his controversial article.

It will be held at WNED Studios downtown on the Lower Terrace April 18th 2-4pm. The forum costs $30. Perhaps there should be an effort to negotiate a "poverty, no dinner rate"?

Look Out! Glaeser Ahead!

Today, 9:12am By Eli George

Get ready Buffalo. Here comes a big one.

David Torke of http://fixbuffalo.blogspot.com was kind enough to send Buffalo Rising some information on an upcoming event that is sure to make waves. Many of you might remember a Queenseyes post about this topic and get ready for it again, because he’s coming in-person.

Professor Edward L. Glaeser, author of “Can Buffalo Ever Come Back?” an article published in City Journal, will be in Buffalo to participate in a forum to discuss his article and its implications. Following his perspectives on this question will be a panel discussion with the following local leaders: Paul Buckley, Applied Sciences; Robert Gioia, The John R. Oishei Foundation; Anthony Armstrong, Local Initiatives Support Corporation; and Moderating the Panel is Margaret Sullivan of The Buffalo News.

The event is co-sponsored by UB Regional Institute University at Buffalo, the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. It will be held at WNED Studios at Horizons Plaza on the Lower Terrace on April 18th from 2-4pm. The forum costs $30 to take part in with a reception immediately following the event.
