OH yeah... your right. We have patrick. It's gonna be tough. The Cheektowaga Democratic Party have a lot of senior citizens snowed big time. Just like Hillary I think they think it's ok to fib to win an election. Patrick is a republican and so is Ted. I wonder what type of mailers Alice's crew will use against Pat.

    Who remembers this?

I was told Alice would make things difficult for the group of board members who work with Diane.

    Here we go..

If I was supervisor next board meeting I'd have a news conference. I'd make a point of telling Cheektowaga property/business owners who I need on the board to make positive change for us. From what I have been told positive change will not come from Alice. When I say positive I mean lower taxes for services rendered along with better spending habits when it comes to spending our town money.

Dan... which group of board members side with Diane for the most part?

Those board members could explain to our local news papers exactly how Alice was while our town clerk and endorse Patrick. What makes choices like this difficult is when you are a party officer and or democratic committee person. You will sell out the Cheektowaga property/business owners just to make sure someone from your political party gets elected to the board. Correct?

    Vacant Board Seat

Might be a interesting board meeting. Maybe Diane could explain then what she has proposed to cut spending and taxes. She did state in her campaign that she would cut taxes and improve infrastructure did she not? Maybe instead of condemning one select person let's look at all the candidates and what they propose or promise to do?

People vote name and it sucks. I remember all too well this nasty mailers on Ted. Patrick would work with Diane much better than who it looks like won the primary. Right now it's Linda, Diane and Tim and in the case I'd the duck Rd Tim Hortons Christine. Jerry and Jim will always vite against Diane. I'm afraid of a split vote on items or a 4 to 2 vite down in what might make the most sense.

Official count is in on absentee ballots
Alice won 134 to 113 over Denny. Here is a link to Patrick Delaney's Facebook pagehttps://www.facebook.com/DelaneyforCheektowaga/

Funniest thread ive read in awhile, but it got me thinking...Ive read many threads on here about the DEM party in Cheektowaga and it really makes me laugh. Here's some history of the last couple elections that fails to get said. Christine won and wasn't endorsed by the DEM's, Jerry Won and wasn't endorsed by the DEM's, Alice won the primary and wasn't endorsed. With this being said let's stop the BS of how the Democratic committee controls our town with the same old club. I find it more interesting that Fish Fry and Diane run the democratic committee and have been coercing everyone into voting to endorse their friends (and don't win). To me this says a lot about them and how they run things. For God's sake they ran Markel as a committeeman! In the end if I was any of the elected or soon to be elected people in the town I wouldn't side with Diane either...It seems Diane and Fish Fry's plans to control the town democratic party just aren't working our they way they thought it would go..

IN the end I don't care which group is running the town as long as positive change happens. NOT just "change" of the names who tell us their hands are tied or there isn't anything they can do.

Our taxes are too high compared to surrounding areas and we are losing population. I DO NOT WANT ANY HILLARY SUPPORTERS on the board who may think pulling refugees into the town is "population growth".

Just a FYI on your comment! Diane is one of the BIGGEST Hillary supporters you have. But going back to your previous comment in this thread, what has Diane as our Supervisor come up with to reduce taxes, spending, etc.? If you truly want her to have a press conference maybe she should start our with her comprehensive plan to reduce taxes and spending and then ask why the other board members don't support her. Maybe is she had some realistic goals and plans to lower our shameful taxes the others would support her. From the sidelines I see her not having any clue as how to reduce taxes and spending. She is finding out the hard way that it cant be done realistically. She should stop listening to Fish Fry Sam Malone and actually do some realistic thinking of her own, and see what can be done in the town.

The Town budget is around 80 million I believe give or take a few, there's no way to cut it say by 10% even. Labor contracts can't be broken and fixed costs are just that. Sharing staplers and paper clips are great but you are correct, there is no real way to reduce this budget ( with possibly the exception of sanitation, but not sure how privatizing saves over time)

Dan Roman You managed to cut it by more then 10% in just your statement...it was $92mil for 2016
    http://www.tocny.org/Portals/0/Depar...ompilation.pdf

If you don't even try to cut it by 10-15% you will never get 10% in cuts in one year...trying is REALLY the first step to cuts.

By the end of the month (Sept. 30) the supervisor Files “tentative” budget with the Town Clerk.

    October 1 to October 5
    Supervisor
The “tentative” budget must be presented to the Town Board by October 5th.

    October 5 to October 30
    Town Board
The Town Board reviews the “tentative” budget and
may adjust before approving a “preliminary” budget
and call for a public hearing.

October 30 Town Board and Citizens
The public hearing is generally held late in October
with prior notice published in the official newspaper.

Thanks for the wake up call, 92 mil , wtf! 100 is around the corner. Still it's like the school budgets, mandated blah blah blah, can't cut 10% out of those either.
