    The Citizen's Budget Advisory committee.

The first meeting of 2017 was March 1st. There were about 20 "appointees" in attendance.

I would like to know when the next meeting is. I was told it would be scheduled once 20 or so copies of the 2017 budget were printed. A month has passed.

What I would like to do to get the ball rolling and have Office depot print 20 copies.

At the link below we can have 20 copies bound and printed for under $450 dollars.

$418.80 X 1.0875 = $456.53 dollars. Small investment to finally put our town's budget in check.

Would Stan Kaznowski have the full PDF of the budget?

The budget can't wait. The recommendations need to be presented to the town board early July 2017

Currently when I click on the 2017 Adopted Budget I see a 56 page document.

    Our town website

    http://www.tocny.org/

    Town Financial Information

    http://www.tocny.org/Departments/Acc...formation.aspx

This is the link I'm clicking for the 2017 budget

I have a 56 page document coming up ending on page 44.

The document is a "scan" of the budget not a text document which would make it easier to search.

If I click on the older 2016 budget I see 238 pages.

This is the link for the 2016 budget

I'll email Brian now and see if he has a copy

    For review:

Here was the report give for July 5th 2016

    The report

I lightly skimmed the document. I noticed they left the elephants off the report.

Even though our Committee was concerned with the ever increasing
costs associated with our Town union contracts, we did not offer any
comment on contractual costs this will be left to the collective
    bargaining process
As property owners we need to get a handle on this and we do not want excuses from anyone on our town board.

As always quick response from Brian.

Emailed at 12:13 and received an answer by 12:33....

They are currently working on the more comprehensive budget document for 2017 and he's in communication with Matt and Stan on that document's completion date. Stan needs to provide the document to the group so they can schedule the next meeting.

Incredibly slow seeing the 2017 budget was adopted many months ago.

It makes it look like making cuts to spending is still not a priority.

To sum it up, The more town hall changes, the more it stays the same in Cheektowaga.

I was informed they finally scheduled 5 meetings. 3 in May and 2 in June with the possibility of more in June and July.

Will the Citizen's Budget Advisory committee tackle what truly makes our property taxes high? Labor contracts? I don't care if we save 5% on paper purchases, 10% on paper clips or 3% on floor wax. That is just BS and everyone on the town board knows that. Did the Cheektowaga Democratic party tie our hands again with labor contract has they have for the last 30 years? That is pretty much a yes or no question.
