    Saddam sentenced to death.

A great day for the fledgling democracy. The Justice system in Iraq has stepped out of the middle ages into the 21st century. Giving Saddam more than he ever had for his victims.
There are appeals and protests expected by supporters of Saddam and the DNC.
The DNC will see this as nothing more then a RNC Rove plot to distract voters from the fact that the DNC can do Iraq better.

    Way to go Iraq!

Saddam sentenced to death for 1982 massacre

Iraq's former president Saddam Hussein has been sentenced to death by hanging today for crimes against humanity.

In a verdict delivered by Iraq's High Tribunal today, the Iraqi leader has been found guilty of the 1982 killing of 148 Shiites in the city of Dujail.

The man, who ruled Iraq with an iron fist for 35 years, was visibly shaking as he waited to learn his fate and was heard shouting; "God is great."
Iraq govt hails Saddam verdict, Sunnis complain

BAGHDAD, Nov 5 (Reuters) - Iraq's government said Saddam Hussein had got what he deserved when an Iraqi court sentenced him to hang, but a senior Sunni Arab member of parliament dismissed Sunday's verdict as political.
"The verdict is as expected," Ali al-Dabbagh, spokesman for the Shi'ite-led coalition government, said after the ousted president was sentenced to death for crimes against humanity.
"This is the least that Saddam deserved because his crimes were great. No further punishment was possible."
A senior Sunni Arab parliamentarian, who asked not be quoted by name for fear of sectarian reprisals, said, however: "This is a political verdict from a political court."
Deputy Prime Minister Barham Salih, an ethnic Kurd, told Reuters: "The court has proven to be professional and just. Saddam was given the justice he denied to the people of Iraq over 35 years.
"I hope the verdict will bring closure to this tragic and brutal episode in Iraqi history. We must never forget and we must always be vigilant never to let tyranny rise here in Iraq ever again -- but it's time to move on."
Abdul Aziz al-Hakim, leader of the most powerful Shi'ite Islamist bloc in the government, praised the verdict but said now was the time for Iraqis to unite:
"Saddam is gone ... His tyranny and injustice are over forever," Hakim told his party's television channel.
"What happened to him is a lesson for everyone -- all tyrants will get what they deserve at the hands of those who suffer injustice," said Hakim, who previously led the Badr Brigade militia, which fought Saddam from exile in Iran.
"I call on all Iraqis to unite."

Even LHardy admits it... the Democrats can do Iraq better.

I heard the DNC was flying the Mexican flag half staff over this verdict. I also heard that at GOP headquarters, the Neverland Ranch, they were serving boy ass all week long to celebrate the verdict.

Let's see if he meets his end like a man without complaint or like a Bush who'll blame everyone but himself for his predicament.
He might have lived had he been a business associate of W(orthless) like Osama bin Ladin is.

Your response would be really funny, Levi, except that I can't find anything funny about ...

    ... 2831 dead American soldiers
    ... 21,000+ wounded American soldiers
    ... 100,000-500,000 Iraqi casualties
... 300 billion US dollars spent and still counting
... Iraq on the brink of civil war
... death squads in Baghdad and other Iraqi cities
... the US government sanctioning torture
... Osama bin Laden still roaming the Afghanistan/Pakistan border
... the Taliban gaining ground in Afghanistan
... the increasing nuclear threats from Iran and North Korea

But, hey, Georgie and his neocons got their man, Saddam, right, Levi? Too bad he isn't the guy they should have been concerned about.

Let me guess, MoveOn.org or the DNC provided you with the information above. I suppose you would like Saddam freed so he could continue using poison gas on the Kurds, killing ****ites at will and forming an alliance with Iran to attack Israel? Just so you know, it is now a NATO operation in Afghanistan now. By the way, William Jefferson Clinton through his dummy (Jimmy Carter) of an envoy in 1994 provided North Korea with the tools and knowledge to join the nuclear club.

it appears as if the we were the supplier.
    long read here

The sarcasm, although witty, is uncalled for.

Knowing someone is a psychopath and giving them the ability to create and use Biological / Chemical Weapons is just plain messed up and should not be tolerated.

It appears that several former presidents are at fault for what is going on in the world today ... it doesnt make it those decisions correct.

Sadam should pay for the crimes, and in fact I am glad that the trial went through the stages.

    Thumbs up

    We're all sentenced to death.

It matters not when you die.

    Death sentences are under-rated.

Just because you get all your ideas from Lush Limberger and Billy O'Really, don't assume that everyone has to be told what to think. As typical of RW sheeple, when you lack arguments, you blame Clinton and the Democrats. Yyaawwwwnnnn.

Anybody with half an un-brainwashed brain who pays attention to what's going on in Iraq knows that the situation there is deteriorating by the day. It's likely that there will be a new call up of National Guard and Reserve troops to add to the US forces in Iraq after the election. Maybe you should inquire of your esteemed POTUS why he's waiting????

"A great day for the fledgling democracy"???? "Way to go Iraq"???? As I said, it would be funny but there's nothing funny about the death, destruction, and chaos Georgie and the neocons have unleashed on Iraq.

Linda, as with most Democrats prefer to change entrenched dictators and genocide via proxy. That way when the going gets tough they can blame everyone except themselves for inaction. Even though it is they, themselves, guilty of inaction. That is why the Dems where so eager to jump on the war band wagon at first. Now they want to jump off.
How would you like to have fair weather friends such as the Dems.

If the Dems win congress they will pull out of Iraq sending it into a definite civil war. What they have now is a bunch of pissed off Bathists' who want power back. Not a real civil war. You know the kind pitting brother against brother and the entire country is fighting each other. The majority of Iraqis' love America though you would never know that if you listen only to the Dem talking points.

The Dems next step, if they win, will be to send millions to Darfur and hope that the UN could convince Darfur to stop the Genocide. UN sanctions are already in place and being ignored as usual but the Dems will just keep pushing for more sanctions on top of sanctions that will never work and never have.

Any Dem care to tell us what UN sanctions and negotiations have been successful in stopping Genocide or Ruthless rulers of any country?

Are you sure you are not Nancy Pelosi's illegitimate sister? I remember Tony Randall doing the ASSUME joke on the Odd Couple many years ago. Please tell us all that you are not Nancy's sister! Never listen to Limbaugh as he is a mouth piece for the Republican Party. Do like Bill O'Reilly as he is the only one that keeps the Liberal Left in check.

POTUS? Are you a stand up comic now? Pull the troops out of Iraq cause the Democrats say so? Let Iraq handle their own problems you say? Iran would move in a blink of an eye. Yes Iran, the same country that sponsored a Holocaust comic contest!

I suggest you quit reading the propaganda from your political party and start really doing some serious research on your own. Research isn't reading what the media fabricates on a daily basis. It is really amazing how many that have served in our military in Iraq have re-enlisted and feels we are doing the right thing. One does have to think for yourself at times without being lead around like sheep.
