The LARGE drug bust in Lancaster.

So what was the outcome of this. It didn't seem to have any follow up in the paper or anything.

Who was finally arrested for this deed? Who owned the building where all this illegal substances were being warehoused?

Anyone that would allow that in thier building might not be who you want in your community to begin with.

Are the police reports on this all public record with the outcome from the DA?

"We don't cover up things in Lancaster," said Supervisor Robert H. Giza. "I would never condone a coverup."

Do cover ups happen in Lancaster? Well, everyone seems to have forgotten about the drug bust that happened in Lancaster in June of 2001.

The Lancaster Bee and the Buffalo News had reported on the initial bust and after that, zilch!

It was reported that approximately 1,000 pounds of marijuana was discovered in a storage facility located near the intersection of Transit and Genesee. Lancaster Town Police Chief Thomas Fowler estimated the the drugs, packed neatly into three large wooden crates, had a street value of well over $2 million.

Two years of surveilance preceded the drug bust. Due to the size of the crates and their weight a fork truck was need to transport them to the police station. End of reported story. There was never anything following the intial stories that reported whether the bust went to a Grand Jury and/or to trial.

If this wasn't a cover up, does anyone have knowledge on what follwed the drug bust?

As an official, it's a pretty stupid thing to say that we don't condone coverups.
Obviously, if you aren't covering anything up, you're going to say you don't condone coverups, and if you are covering something up you're going to say the same thing.

the bust was a multi-level investigation including lancaster, nys, fbi, dea and atf.
the storage facility was cooperating with the feds as they surveilled the transport from texas to ny and waited in lancaster for the shipments to arrive.
it is a federal case which probably explains why local press lost track of it.

Can someone find the story, Nationally?

If not, then there was a payoff.
