    Robery Stopped BUT Homeowner charged

    http://www.lockportjournal.com/local...022003301.html

I believe Dennis showed great restraint. Sure, he could have shot them both, but didn't.

Definately backwards, but we hope charges will be dropped for Dennis.

15 shots fired at the car while the guy was driving away is showing great restraint?\

Wonder if the cops stole Dennis's AR15?

    legally Dennis was wrong

in shooting at the fleeing vehicle. Luckily he didn't kill the kid. Hopefully he doesn't have any type of prior history and a low level plea will be offered. He problaby doesn't if he is a gun owner. Hopefully the criminals will get hit hard by the Judge.

Yeah, I'd like to hear the explanation for that as well.

point is here, is Cherry gets the shaft.

Cherry NOW has a CRIMINAL record for defending his home, his personal space which was violated by two criminals.

Now he has to get a lawyer... and itll cost him like $1000+ to defend himself against the state. Not to mention, he wasted 13 rounds....

The car was not moving, it was in his driveway in front of his garage. No one else was in any danger.

Nope! Not unless it was a 15 round clip and he didnt have a spare ready to reload. Cherry did the righteous thing to send the message that there are true americans who are simply ready to have no more tolorance for other peoples BS anymore. From the punks to the politicaians, let the s**t hit the fan.

How could you have an accurate weapon like a 223 and miss.. really?? 15 times?

Yes in a firefight you have about 25% hit ratio due to combat stress

Thats easy. You miss the person on purpose but destroy their car to scare the crap out of them, avoid a murder charge, and put some courage into society so more people start learning how to defend themselves instead of a dependence on a nanny government.

Bottom line is that it was pretty stupid to run outside and fire at a fleeing car. The laws are pretty clear about that.

He may also have another legal problem. He fired 15 shots and so he probably has an illegal magazine for his AR-15. 10 shot magazines are the biggest that are legal in NYS.

Let's see... Cherry is holding one burgler at gun point, when the other tries to take off in the car. How was he to know the the second one wasn't going for a gun in the car? Or just planning on backing up for some get-up-and-go space to run him down?

If you order somebody at gun point not to move, it's probably a good idea for them not to move. And if they do move, it usually means they think they got a good chance on pulling something over on you.

Oh and look! The pair of burglers are also suspects in another break-in where a handgun was stolen!

I'd say Cherry made a good call. Also I'd like to know did he put his rounds into the engine compartment or what? Sounds like at least was using the car as a back stop.

"State police investigators piecing together events said the suspects drove to the residence together, and Zsebhazy tried to enter the house through an open garage door."

This sounds also like this pair specifically targeted this elderly man for a break-in. (How brave of them)
And I have to say... what a gentleman the Hispanic burgler was letting his younger girlfriend get out and take all the risks performing the break-in while he sat in the car keeping it warm for her.

Really? I never missed. But, then again, I always qualified Expert (40 for 40) on M16, and no worse than Sharpshooter for the M2, AT4, and Grenade
