Tree lighting ceremony returning to Town Hall

Tree lighting ceremony returning to Town Hall

After an extended absence, the Town of Cheektowaga will once again host a tree lighting ceremony for this year's holiday season.

The event will begin at 5:45 PM Monday, December 5th in front of Town Hall, 3301 Broadway before the Cheektowaga Town Council's meeting which will start at its usual 6:45 PM.

In addition to lighting the Christmas tree, there will be hot chocolate available inside town hall before the meeting begins, and choral members from the Cheektowaga Sloan will be on hand for an informal performance.

The idea to restart the town's tree lighting festivities, which didn't take place for several years, was spearheaded by Deputy Supervisor Tim Meyers. He added that he hoped the family oriented event would become a regular part of the town's holiday season slate.

You have a valid point. I don't know if anyone on the town board really focuses on items that effect traffic in our town. Tree lighting ceremony is no biggie though. 20 minutes of time and that's about it. You'll see a photo op in the bee with the tree.

We won't see anything in the bee, part of the town doesn't get any local papers.

How can that be? The local democratic party usually panders to everyone and anyone in town

They would want the bee available everywhere.

Which part of town doesn't receive the bee?

And... there is nothing wrong with the tree lighting ceremony. I don't expect to have police officers/town employees present collecting over time for this tiny event.
