    Hoboken train crash: 1 dead, 74 sent to hospital

    New York (CNN)A New Jersey Transit train plowed through a major station in Hoboken during Thursday morning's rush-hour commute, killing at least one person and sending 74 others to hospitals, some with serious injuries, local officials said.

    If this was one of the proposed high speed trains people are pushing for NYS how much worse would that damage have been?

    This train didn't have Positive train control systems which any HSR train would probably have and likely would have prevented this. This was a simple commuter train. what a mess though....

    I am still in favor of HSR.

    It is difficult to understand the need living in WNY where there is no real commuter rail service. There should and could be though.
