Didn't they have issues with the transfer of the land or something like that?

Pretty sure it's dead and ED moved on to other projects.

The central terminal does seem a tough nut to crack but looking at how fast Turner Lofts has filled up, with rents in the $1200 to $1600 range on a previously undesirable stretch of Niagara street, I think its possible.

The thing to keep in mind is a lot of sane people are coming in to work those bio/medical jobs so luckily we are not only stuck with old Buffalo suburbanites and there, "Archie bunker still stuck in the 70's" type mentality.

It is estimated that by 2017, combined with the initiatives of Roswell Park Cancer Institute and UB 2020, employment on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus will exceed 17,000, close to that of the Bethlehem Steel plant before its closure.

Younger office workers, nurses, researchers etc. Its an exciting time to live in Buffalo.
Steven, hate to be the one to break this to you but there is no UB2020. It was never approved and the bulk of the money was siphoned off by other SUNY schools like Stony Brook and Binghamton. All these sane people coming to work in these wonderful jobs and people keep claiming the "growth" in the city is due to immigrants coming in. Pretty much sounds like horsesh*t to me all the way around.

Here come the lawsuits again. The migratory path of birds, Lakeshore storm water runoff. potential discharges into the lake, and the City's new proposed Green Code with height restrictions on the waterfront. This is going to cost the developers a lot
of money in legal costs and delay the project, Plus if they have to downsize the height, it's going cost a lot of money
    in redesign & engineering.

Not a word from the developer ? I don't think he has the financing to pull off such a big project and is
hoping for lots and lots of government money

    Jennifer,

What are you talking about. The lawsuit is a separate item that has nothing to do with financing. Only word I would expect from the developer is that a group of people are standing in the way of the project.

Why is the group not demanding the grain silos come down if there is an issue with migratory paths for birds?
