Politics, hidden agendas and an irrelevant mascot have turned a once proud community into a dumpster-fire.

No, they are fighting about the parking spots for vets. Pretty much an entire meeting spent on this subject.

This present state of affairs is the fault of the previous 7 member BOE. ALL they had to do was ask the TAXPAYERS what nickname they preferred and allowed them to VOTE on it. But no they had far superior intellect and voted for the TAXPAYERS. Funny but on May 17th the TAXPAYER will be smart enough to vote on a 200 Million dollar budget. By the way when the TAXPAYER was given their vote back to decide on BOE members the two incumbents finished 4th and 5th out of a field of five. But the sham succeeded and the nickname was changed. Now we should all move on. Yeah right. When you screw good people you get what you asked for. Get ready to lose two more seats and don't cry about it.

I guess Sojka must have worn out his arm, throwing all those curve balls.

    Now we have the reliever.

$200 Million. What budget are you voting on? You are way off if it is Lancaster, and you need to do your research.

And your reference to "good people" has me confused. How do you define good people?

Do their good traits include intimidation, threats, character assassination, and general poor behavior?

If so, call Webster's to register your exact definition.

Did you really expect an answer to your question?

From the deafening silence of this pro Redskin individual how can one not think the following?

    • There are pro Redskin individuals out there that cannot move on and would support any future movement to bring the offending name back. Those that think otherwise and are either naïve or plain stupid.

    • These are the individuals who will support Osika and Schaffer who are also Redskin supporters and in turn are supported by the Friends of the Lancaster Redskin organization and want to change the makeup of the board to suit their bio agendas

    • The agenda of the pro Redskin coalition is to bring more transparency and openness and to govern better by listening more to the public – the public that attends the BOE meetings that is that is made up largely of their supporters since the name was changed – and openly acts to discredit and demean the remaining five of the seven BOE members who unanimously voted to change the Redskin name.

    • The Redskin supporters will now have an opportunity to vote two more of their own onto the BOE and bring the change they want – control of the BOE, govern as they wish implementing their campaign agendas and removing Superintendent Dr. Michael Vallely from office.

    • Opposing Osika and Schaefer are candidates who are pro administration and see the value in maintaining a BOE plurality and a superintendent that has helped bring so much in academic achievement while being recognized as the second most cost-effective districts in WNY. They voice concerns whether the progress made by the district in the best interests of the students and taxpayers will be adversely impacted by candidates whose main reason for running is to bring justification for the perceived horror in the BOE making a name change without the process of a town referendum.

    • This election will be a referendum on which direction the district goes in that no thought is given to the risk of removing Dr, Vallely and other administrative changes that could follow.

BTW – Would you have given any credibility to a poster who has no idea what the district budget proposal is? Off by nearly $100 million?

privately, certain administrators and principals openly tell people that if this unlikely scenario happens, they are not going to stick around. lots and lots of teachers are disgusted as well.

so the mob may be singling out dr vallely and the 5 BOE members, but their success would really set back this district substantially and who the heck would want to work here to fill those gaps?

The one that finished 3rd was the one endorsed by the teachers union.
    From last year's Lancaster Bee-
A former member of the board, Brenda Christopher, gained 2,308 votes, and Kelly Depczynski tallied 1,971. Both challengers won three-year terms. In third place, Wendy DellaNeve received 1,890 votes followed by incumbents Kim Nowak and Wendy Buchert with 1,734 and 1,614, respectively.
